My son won the kids division of cheese rolling at Blackcomb a few years back.

It's a crazy event. Crazier, putting your infant front and center to watch, when clearly that thing is an unguided missile.

Event? You mean sport. Cheese rollers everywhere would be upset with you.

I see it as an event. Like crossfit. But some events are closer to being real sports than others.

I.e: crossfit is about 1/8 a real sport, while cheese rolling is about 7/8. Both events, neither real sports, but one is closer to being a real sport than the other.

Indeed.

With a 4 game winning streak to boot!

This team has been a tease all year, and I now expect them to drop 2-3 games before winning another 3-4 to tease us again. Those are my best expectations.

I also wonder if, being in Canuck Nation puts this team under such a bright microscope, that for us it seems all doom and gloom, but if you look around the league, we certainly could be doing worse, and most expected us to do worse.

I don't know what to think of the coaching situation. I don't get the feeling the coach has "lost the room", certainly not in the same way Torts or even Keenan before him did. I get the feeling they like Willie, like playing for him, even if tactically he seems out of his depth at times.

As for our prospects...nobody can tell me the D prospects aren't ahead of where they should be. It definitely looks like we have some nice pieces there. With Stecher, Tryamkin, and Hutton, we have three unexpected nice surprises in two years. Gudbranson...looked terrible, but he has too good a resume, and too high a character to not come back better next year vastly improved (though I think he's on the last year on an RFA contract, maybe UFA, not sure). With Olli Juolevi coming in likely next year, who knows? Could be the rebuilding of the defense has happened a lot sooner than later. Would still love to see Suban up here, as I don't think Biega is a long term piece, neither is Larson.

The attack, I don't know what to make of it. Horvat is looking like a stud, Baertschi is vastly improved over two seasons ago, and over this point last year. Other decent pieces, but the problem of what to do when the twins retire still lurks.

Is it possible this team doesn't suck as bad as we all thought? Smoke & mirrors?

True.

I'd also be handsomer, more engaging, women would find me more appealing, and anyone connected to the internet world would know, daily, what my WOD looks like.

All that, and I still wouldn't be an athlete.

I think the local men's leagues have forgotten what they are.

On another note, Moby Dick would slay it in Coal Harbour.
