You never know when something like this is going to hit society but it just happened so it is what it is. Hopefully there will be a decline in number of new Covid-19 cases and all this will be soon behind us.

Assuming the worst and everything is shut down from now until late May the easiest way will be to determine the League standings by using a tie-breaker (Rule 5.3) but that is only in the case two (or more) teams are tied with the points (and played the same number of games).

The issue will be how to determine the League standings in situations in which teams did not play equal number of games and where the teams with games in hand would have a chance to catch a team currently positioned above them and that is exactly situation that exists in Premier League.

In this case the League would most likely have to divide points by the number of games played and that way determine the League standings.

By applying that simple math Rinos Tigers would be crowned the Premier League Champions because they would have 2.227273 quotient while Croatia would have 2.20 quotient.

I guess BC Soccer could use the same logic to name the Provincial representative for the Nationals. Take all leagues involved into consideration and calculate the quotient for each League Champion. The team with highest quotient could represent BC at Nationals in October. That team would not be crowned Provincial Champion but it would represent BC at Nationals.

Again, this could be a solution if the competitions simply would not resume at all.

CSA with a statement this afternoon saying that they will monitor Covid-19 and make a decision re Nationals on June 30

Would have to think if things are not up and running by then it will all be a wash in terms of Provincials and Nationals.

Good news is it looks like BC might have a better handle on this thing that some other regions. Assuming we don't fcuk it up now, things could be much more optimistic in a month...

Another good look for local amateur football. Fees must have already been spent paying men’s premier players.
I would expect they would at least refund whatever money they have left and issue a credit for the remainder. I would expect next years entry fee to be considerably more than this years as well. Sucks all around.

When you cancel the day before the tourney is scheduled, a lot of the money is spent. but 171K! should be a bit of a credit left to return to teams

This is a joke, a complete cash grab. How many of their real costs are sunk? You'd expect at the very least a healthy credit back to registered teams, and for people to follow rule #1.

Wouldnt they have insurance ? Obviously not specific to what's going on but surely they would have done due diligence to protect all participants against the unforeseen? Not even sure how you can run an event these days with some sort of protection In place

partial refunds will be issued for those who request now.

they also released the full financials. seems they spent 50k out of approx 100k collected.

Now let's get back on topic. With CCB merged with SFC Pegasus, where does that leave the CCB VMSL Premier team? Will they align with a different youth club or just go independent?

Ya...as CCB pointed out on Twitter their Premier team has nothing to do with the youth program (and their decision on refunds etc....). So I don't really see the merger affecting them.

Pretty sure the spot still technically belongs to Steve Milar who's Langley FC were relegated from FVSL Div. 1 this season. There have been rumours swirling the past couple off seasons that he was looking to step back in and take the VMSL spot back with his son aging out of youth soccer.
