Attention grabber. Well played for a Tuesday if I don’t say so myself.

Looking for opinions on these tree-hugging, shower dodging, (copyright Fastshow 2004) nothing better to do wankers who honestly believe slot machines at the race track, Hastings park in particular, will bring increased crime to Vancouver. What it’ll bring is my Gran and a giant hand bag full of quarters and of course The Captain. How can slot machines in a gambling facility bring any more trouble?

God only knows how many shootings and drunken brawls may happen at the race track if they get them in there.

If Chuck is lurking out there, somewhere (somewhere, out there...), he can attest that Cloverdale has not spiraled into New Whaley as a result of Fraser Downs adding slots.

The proceeds come back to the community in droves. As long as the activities don't attract crime- and I hardly doubt the HA will be sitting outside the doors of Hastings track- I have no problem with society profiting off the Captain's addicition(s).

Haven't you seen I, Robot, Beaker? If you put slot machines in at the race track they might start evolving and eventually thinking freely. Then they get all fcuked up on cough syrup and go out rampaging, destroying property, bonking bluehairs and quiltmakers on the head with their one arm and making those annoying ding-ding-ding-ding-ding noises ad nauseum. That's how crime would go up. Honestly, sometimes I think you should just think a little before you post.

What better place for slots than a place that already allows gambling?

As far as I am concerned its better to keep it all in one place, rather than have 50 different gambling facilities or 2000 facilities like the province of Alberta. That way gambling should only effect those that attend...

Langley's new casino (a few blocks from the condo I just sold) is being built as we speak and already there is a lineup of people at the 501 bustop to get here from Whalley.. ;)

I think that most crime is commited for money to buy drugs, food/lodging or whatever and even to some extent for fun.....but not for casino money.

Whiners.

I had an idiot friend who had a rabbit. The rabbit shat so much it was living in its own stool. He (the rabbit) wasn't a gambler though or I suppose he would have been struck down in his stool with all the raisins at the race track.
