So what to make of this drama?
Personally, I kinda don't want EITHER to get long term deals, too many question marks still with both and neither had stellar seasons last year.
Petey needs to prove he isn't going to be injury prone and Hughes needs to prove he can actually play D?
Makar is miles ahead of Hughes at this point so I have no idea why he would be a comparable.
McJesus is in a world of his own and if Petey / agent is looking for those numbers, well, also in a world of their own.
Bridge deals seem the best option here taking into account how many years of RFA status they have, the 'Nucks cap relief happening over the next 3 years, and the cap going up post-covid.
