speaking as a spectator : been to both live cricket (international) and baseball(seattle) the speed / interest level about the same. the crowd at cricket is waaaaay more interesting
maybe....but brett lee(aussie fast bowler ) bowls balls at an average of 146 km/h - 150...

Talking to vancouverites when i was over there i found that the concerns were nearly the same.
transport, native(aboriginal) issues, environment issues and the ridiculous belief that "they should spend the money elsewhere"(like they would)...
issues...
the negatives or the issues were ALL we talked about in the leadup and during the process of selection.
so many people worried about things that turned out to be completely not worth worrying about.
In fact, our media was negative most of the time and it was great to see sydney...

i believe their game plan is to lull everyone into a false sense of security so they will bother to take the flight here for the world cup.
