    No Youth Discussions on TTP

Back on topic While I respect the decision to stop youth soccer discussion that was my sole reason for visiting this site. As a resident in the Kootenays I am very much out of the loop of what is going on in BC Soccer. I found the discussions on this site very valuable. Good bye.

Anyone know why the final results are not up?

2011 Senior Boys High School Soccer

Good to hear it. And thank you. As a parent, coach, team manager and board member of a team in the Kootenays I sure as heck hope the smaller schools are looked at. We do no have enough players to be comptetitive against big clubs (our entire organization only has 220 players) but there are...

Should I put my son in the HPL

Just want to chime in here...for all the talk about costs and developing soccer in the "province"... consider that at least you all have ACCESS to different opportunities. You guys are fortunate. Here in the Kootenays we are 500+ km away from the nearest HPL team. There are not options like...

How will HPL affect Gold/Silver levels

Soccer is way more complicated in the lower mainland than in the Kootenays. In our area we have one team foer every two age groups (eg. U 14's / U 15's combine to make a U 15 team). There is no gold, silver, bronze...if an age group is particularly skilled they play in gold and silver...

How will HPL affect Gold/Silver levels

Good information. We have been in the B cup the past two years. Technically we are a bronze team although we play at whatever level we can find games.

How will HPL affect Gold/Silver levels

So which caliber of teams will be playing in the Provincial B Cup next spring? Will it be division 1 teams?

How will HPL affect Gold/Silver levels

Sure, there is a rep program in Nelson but I am not from Nelson. That is 115 kms away.

How will HPL affect Gold/Silver levels

Its interesting reading through this thread but it is a completely different reality in the interior of the province. In the Kootenays we have no option but to travel "ridiculous" distances to play competitive games. Our closest community is over 115 kms away! There is no DCC in our region...

How will HPL affect Gold/Silver levels

Sigh...reading thru the last few pages makes me sad for kids in the Kootenays. In our community we dont even have divisions. We only have enough kids for 1 team per age group (actually we have to combine 2 age groups to have enough players for a team). The impact on our teams is we...

What team do you coach? As for golfing...some great courses in the area. Maybe 8 within an hour drive. A couple right in Castlegar. Yes, they will have rentals. Home | Golf Castlegar Club and RV Park

The US tournaments are great fun. Teams from Alberta, Montana, Idaho Washington and BC. The Castlegar tournament is usually the 1st weekend in May. Check Kootenay South website. Kootenay South Youth Soccer Association

We do have a league but we only play tournaments for league play. We have a playdown to qualify for the B cup.

Boys in Bronze and silver soccer

Thanks for the kind words Mr Base. I agree, we do have some talented players. Not enough at any age group to be truly competitive maybe but after seeing the competition at the B Cup we certainly had a few players that could play on any team there. As for our competitions, we do play...

Boys in Bronze and silver soccer

Thanks for the info. The fees I was referring to were the payments our association makes to BCSA. We do not get the same programs as the lower mainland. There is no DCC in the Kootenays. There is no provincial team tryouts. No premier league. Because of geography (we are over 115 km away...

Boys in Bronze and silver soccer

I guess I am more interested in what is happening in BC soccer in general. Our area certainly gets the short end of the stick in terms of services from the soccer association. The development opportunties just do not exist. It begs the question what are we paying fees for exactly (other than...

Boys in Bronze and silver soccer

New to this forum...trying to learn more aobut how soccer operates in the lower mainland. In the Kootenays we are challenged by geography and population. Our entire organization only has 200 kids...pretty hard to compete against the big regions. We are very interested to see what happens...
