Canada vs USA, winner books spot in Beijing. Match in Nashville Thursday.

I'm in Northern Ontario now and between the mosquitos, moose and Red Green I haven't seen a lot of coverage.

It's on Fox Sports tomorrow night... just curious what the BC buzz is... 90 minutes from a significant and overdue accomplishment for the CSA.

Just got back from a week in Mexico (where the qualifying games were huge) and major questions into the tanking of the Canadian game by the Guatamalians! There's rumours that they have asked for an inquiry. The Guatamalian celebrations at the end of the game and the constant cheering from the Guatamalian fans at every Canadian goal probably tipped them off that something was shady!

Not like the Mexican referee had an agenda in the Gold Cup in the US/Canada semifinals...

Canada tied Mexico, lost to worldbeaters Haiti and then won what djones estimates was a fixed match against Guatamala. Go Canada.

That being said, an upset against the Americans would put them in a place Canada has only qualified for once before.

3-0. Tough loss and super frustrating as we had a great chance to qualify for the Olympics. Maybe we'll qualify for the world cup instead.

Canada played with one stricker for the first 27 minutes, the odd time we did get the ball the back line would pass it back and forth amongst themselves then fire up a long ball to this lone stricker who usually didnt even get under the ball...

They actually looked ok for the final 20 with...4, count em 4 stickers on the field. But of course it was 3-0 at that point at the US was jsut sitting back.

Random qualifying system they have, where U-23 squads do the qualifications then if you make it to the olympics you may call up 3 senior players.

We were looking for somewhere on the net to check the score at training tonight, then when I get home nothing on the tube either... only TTP. Should have thought of checking here earlier -- nothing happens in soccer that is not commented on right away. Good job TTP.
