Looks like most Vancouver games are cancelled again this week,according to the VMSL website. Once again, no surprise.

Looking at the schedule for this weekend Croatia A & B vs Surrey A & B have not been cancelled? Someone tell me this is an oversight!

werd on the skreet (well, in surrey anyways) is that knvb was out at cloverhoof with a can of wd-40 and a pack of matches, looking to thaw out the turf. and set garbage cans on fire. wicked.

you can pretty much do anything with wd-40 and fire...that includes getting Croatia to drive 45 minutes to play on the frozen tundra of Clambeaudale, while everybody else is watching the Jets/Steelers.

Dizou, you’ll have to wait until 4 or 5 for the field inspection to know for sure.

Why? What is the difference anyway? Why not man up instead of whining about how cold it may be and taking your lumping now. At least then you'll still have your cold excuses and that Croatians are only fair weather players. It must be better than delaying the inevitable and have no excuse other than maybe Bronco put it in his own net. Again.

Slurrey want to play this game, because Croatia has been one of the Hottest teams in the league the last 4 or 5 games, but with the long winter break of drinking for the Croats and 2 a days training for the Slurrey lads, they think they have a chance for a win on the frozen tundra of Cloverhoof. This will be a classic if this game is a go.

Just informed from Pat Banks via Kerrisdale Soccer that all Vancouver grass fields are closed this weekend (January 29-30).

This begs the question, why?

There is something seriously wrong with the way parks boards are running the fields. Does every single field have that shitty of drainage?

Just informed from Pat Banks via Kerrisdale Soccer that all Vancouver grass fields are closed this weekend (January 29-30).

Hold on a sec, Keeper, let's not get everyone all worried and start rumours. She probably looked at the Vancouver Parks Board field status page and saw all closed (I saw the same thing earlier today). But if you look now, it's got them all as N/A. They won't make the final decision until noon Friday. So let's just calm down and wait for 24 hours. Seriously, there is no reason to close them this weekend - it has barely rained thus far this week. Come tomorrow, if there is a blanket closure, then someone needs to vent about it to the Parks Board. I, for one, am optimistic they'll be open this weekend.
