There's other sports out there for you VMSL'ers that would fit into your guys style like badminton or gymnastics or wrestling with each other , etc?

Hopefully this thing will end and all will be back to the sport they love soon.

Vancouver Parks Board field closure web page and phone # are both still on strike as well.

Trece

Noticed that as well. Now that we have a weekend where weather looks to be a factor, who makes the field calls now? The leagues? Or is it a free for all...

You would think the home team should visit at least 24 hours pre game to assess- and Notify League and other team manager.

Most of us have played long enough to figure out what the city/ref deem as playable or not.

I don't know about the VMSL, but that is what the FVSL told us to do in case of a field being suspect without an official closure from the governing municipality.

This of course makes sense but where is the communication from the league? If that's going to be the program then communicate it to the teams so everyone is on board. My assumption is this is not the case so the league will either play or postpone games based on their judgement.

Updated first post with URL to Surrey Parks Field Status - the phone number for them no longer updates, they direct you to the website.

Surprisingly, looks like most games should be a go this weekend across the league in all communities. Go figure.

Hey Blaze,

How was Beacsonsfield last weekend. Given the rain we had and that is expeced, what do you think the chances of games on it going ahead for Sunday?

Field was ok when we started(softish but fine) but shoddy by the end adue to the heavy rain we experienced durng the game. I would think it would be at best 50/50 as it was pretty sloppy sunday afternoon but depending on how it drains i guess. We trained Wednesday night in ladner in a sleety/rainy/snowy/windy storm that was actually coming down fatser than the turf could drain. I have no idea what that would do to a grass field but it can't be good.

Boney if it just showers or we get barely any rain that day like they say then it should be game on. We've played there this year after it rained on Sat and sometimes even on the Sun. Now if it continues pissing who knows but you better gather your 8 players for the tilt.;)

Just drove by Hillcrest. It's covered in a thin layer of snow. Enough to not see any lines (as if that's even a deciding factor on a day like today). And I don't see it changing in 4 hours.

Then maybe settle the Imperial Cup with a street hockey game.

Game on .............. Car.

JAGS

I don't like that........the Bhangra bhoys aren't known for their hockey skills.......and Surrey United would goon us all over the street. They're a lot bigger than us. :D On top of that, how much luck would we have?
