From what I gather the money is a 40 year loan to a crown corp that hasn't been sold, with 42 mill coming from the unused overuns budget from the Trade and Convention Centre, the rest will be leveraged from the lease, not sale, of Pavco lands for development, the last of the DT Prime lands available (previously unavailable) in the Metro Vancouver DT Core.
-Job Creation to the tune of 3000 MAN YEARS!!
-a huge cost savings in operational and energy management costs
-operations right-sizing and streamlining
-addition of another 40 or so odd dates to the approx 200 a year currently.
I don't see how this is a bad thing, the only way it is framed up as bad would be the better alternative of allowing Kerfoot to build his own stadium, and have Pavco blow up the stadium, sell the lands and make a Billion, and get out of the Stadium business...
