[FVSL Masters] Results & Banter - Preseason - September 2004

With the up and coming season but a few weeks away here are just a few rumors flying around the "olde bouys" league.

Mission, Academico & Sundowners are gone. No loss regarding Hatzic.

Strangers unable to field a full strength squad so they pillaged the Firemen?
Are the Strangers a real threat to ScUm or just hot air?

Will Ballbaby be any better after Euro?

Are the Firemen still fully involved and are they going to ditch that horrendous yellow kit?

Will Peach Arse get any better or will they have a hanging?

Has TheBigToe moved to the dark side and who will follow?

All this and more once we kick off.
Hopefully all Masters games will be on Friday or Saturday nights.

My aren't we anxious to get going???? Working yourself into one of those tragically hip frenzies even before the season start....let me try to shed some light on your rather drab, unexciting, more than predictable life!

let's start with:
-Mission, Academico & Sundowners are gone. Thank God!!! you could easily add Craperton Old Boys to the list, and maybe even the PorkChops in PoCo....

-RangerForever et al should make sure they bring shinpads every week, kiss the wives, girlfriends and bring a towel for all the whinning they'll be doing....

-Last I saw of BawlBaby, he was in the beer gardens at this years Nations Cup naked and sucking on a bottle of OUZO!!! So he's already better in my book!

-where have you been BullyB??? PA has hung plenty a tosser and why should this year be any different?

-only "The Shadow" knows where 5BT is hanging his hat this year.

-for fcuk sakes, Friday? Saturday? Sunday? let's pick a day and get going....you better believe there's more to come!

Regarding the Mission 35's

Don't feel to heart broken about not having to travel to hatzic any more, next year you only have to travel to the new Mission 'Sportspark'. Mission will be back next year with a full squad of 35's. Half of this years GEU premier squad will be playing 35's in 2005/06 along with some semi retired players from Mission's premier team of a couple years ago. Should have a decent squad for next season with 75% of the team turning 35 this year. Cheers and see ya next season!

Funny you mention - I remember someone just chatting (Coach?) about the old Mission battles in FVSL premier many moons ago and when would that come around soon in Masters.

Two weeks and counting, here's the skinny so far.
Eight teams are in;

Strangers had to pillage the FireBitches from the growth hormone clinic. Peach Arse are signing 142 including the gruesome twosome of Petal and SoftBitch, Bookie (who still can't get in a night club) will still be yappin' from afar. ScUm have their sights set on the Nationals, good luck you tossers. AllBlacks have picked up a few tasty additions.
PorkChops & AlderBush still don't have internet or running water so who knows. Crapperton still hold the best after match party, pass the bong pls. Academico are hoping for a point still.

Let’s get the party started ladies, best league in the valley.

I forgot poaching is legal in Langley....



Just got some initial dates from the league and club and we will be playing a major portion of our matches out of NAP on Friday nights this year with the Firefighters 10:00 Sunday spot as a back up still.
I suppose we can have the Sundowners time now as a back drop too....

In all due respect BullshiteyB, as much as I thoroughly will be looking forward to my after time with Sapperton this year, you do realize there's a new sherriff in town when it comes to post match festivities eh?
Unfortunately we do not provide Interac.

I thought we had a numbers problem.
Common thought out there is 36 bodies is not a manageable squad.

Well that's the last penalty Newcastle will ever win.
I'm sure the ref assoc. just hates the guys guts.
As for leaving Blackburn, I really liked him because he can attract big players but a lot of people think his self life was up. Just like supporting England and the Rovers, it's always been painful.

The only prediction I'm going to make about this weekend is Bookie'll be escorted from another dive and PopBitch will be goin' out usin' his kung fu.

For the record, let's get this whole merger issue delt with once and for all.
We are the Rangers.
They were the Firemen.
We are both SFC and in the same club,
We had 12 players to go over 35, they had 14 players all last season.
This season they would have had 8 or 9 players top.
So as any GOOD club would do, we merged into one team.
We could have poached and asked some of you allstars to come on board but we did'nt.
Same club and 21 players strong. Get it in your heads that Firemen would have folded and merged with the Van Fireman if not for this outlet boys!
No one got cut and now we are deep in the bench and ready to challenge
for the good old masters crown.
For the last time boys, get your facts straight before you state your old ("They Stacked Their Team ")
Tonight we played well and beat Akidemico 6-0 this evening in a very soggy downpour!
Shuey with two, coach with one, Andy Myer with one, Barry P with one, and Gordo with the header.
Nice start to the season and getting ready to play Surrey U next sunday am.

P.S. Keith Izatt looked very good back in a Ranger Jersey again this weekend.

Coach who is glad to see that everyone else is concerned about THE MERGER OF AN ALLSTAR TEAM!!!!!!!!!!! Whatever!!!!!!!!!

Not that it really should matter but we were missing a ton of guys, including myself, 0 or 1 sub available, but that has never been an issue in the past. Perhaps it is now? I don't know. Sapperton had chances to win this game from what I hear.

I have to try and find a stand-in for our tilt on the weekend.

I agree, rangerforever, that it should not make a difference if I was there or not but every player should think that way or mediocrity will prevail. This type of thinking should not be interpreted as egocentric but rather as a catalyst to be the best you can be. Every player that was absent on the weekend will think the result would have been different if they were there. Being a Master for some period now, I have learned to channel my energy into positive actions and thoughts. You too will learn to do this, as soon as your over-cooked spaghetti-like ligaments heal with the help of modern medicine, and you gallop onto the pitch, and you realize that you, rangerforever, are there to help the Rangers win. You're not only there to handle the beer fund or drum up business during tax season, but to actually win. Hold your head up man! Realize who you are. Beat your chest Tarzan. When you walk through the door to your home, call to the wench, demand a Scotch, down it with one gulp, take her upstairs to that king sized bed of yours, pull the mauve comforter back and reveal those fresh satin sheets, and take a moment to show her the man you are.

If you see my nike sock in there, could you be a sweetie and bring it to the game on Sunday?
