My BCFC Tournament Recap

Firstly,

Fcuk off to everybody who slagged me for my long-winded posts (Jim Holiday, Ballbaby, and the rest of you fcukers). May you all be forced to sit in a beer garden immersed in conversation with the ginger-haired porn star and Know-One. Garret, that was and will always be a magnificent inverse summersault. Oh yeah, this is going to be a long fcuking post. So all you remedial readers, stop right here and return to the Italian League thread.

So, to the tourney. So I'm Emceeing a wedding in Prince George when suddenly Peter Sulentic takes a PK and I save it (thus securing Sporting Vancouver's 3rd place finish in Men's Open side of the Burnaby Canadians Tournament). This, of course, was all before pulling off the upset of the tournament, nipping the powerhouse Peg squad 1-nil while Shep and his hopeful chip shots into the box couldn't result in a bulgde of the ol' onion bag. I still say that wasn't a shot, Saint. Just a lethal cross.

***Sporting's here, Sporting's there, Sporting's in third place of the BCFC tourney thanks to a penalty shot victory over Croatia "A".***

Onto other matters then. Cocco traded goalie gloves for a shooter's touch as he cooly slotted home the game-winning peno against Sportstown in the Open final. That strike was almost as impressive as Sensei Hanson's crucial PK stop on Peter Sulentic as Sporting Vancouver "A" defeated Croatia SC "A" in the 3rd/4th place game of the open division of the BCFC Labour Day tourney 2001. That last reference surely goes out to CDK who is steaming at the fact I'm basking in the glory of beating about 1/3 of Croatia "A"'s full-lineup. Good thing I wore extra-thick shinnies.

The rest of the tourney is a blur of Shep and his bird fighting over beer tokens, Jinko exchanging pleasantries with the aforementioned porn star, G-Man trying to figure out who the hell I am, and me basking in the glory of stopping a Peter Sulentic peno to secure 3rd place for the newly promoted Sporting Vancouver club. Oh yeah, lots of booze. I'm horribly drunk.



Somehow I got passed over for keeper of the tournament. J_B should have been defender of the tournament, and Jinko should have emceed the awards presentation. But its all history now.....all we have to look forward to now is months of trying to secure a few precious premier points in the quest to avoid relegation.

Since I played one game in the tourney, I should expect my winner's medal/beer tokens via courier over the next couple of days.

I had to coach today and wasn't part of the winning squad. Hmmm, maybe there is some correlation there?

Congrats to Burnaby, my team for the weekend(at least Sunday) for beating whoever they beat in the final. I assume Burnaby lumped PG Croatia?

Burnaby was lucky to habve made it through regular time let alone the PK's. In fact, if it wasn't for Besty they would have lost for sure. The YOUNG and skilled Sporstown had most of the play but unfortunately they lacked a little experience when it came down to crunch time!
