...they kicked off their new world tour Wed night...starting in Vancouver!!
A joyous, reborn INXS rocked into a world tour with a new Canadian frontman and an anthem.

J.D. Fortune was so excited to be performing at home with his favourite band, he led the crowd in a heartfelt, bilingual O Canada. "He fit in so well!" screamed Stacey Jannigan, a longtime fan of the band. She was screaming for the crotch-grabbing Fortune along with scores of young girls at Vancouver's Queen Elizabeth Theatre.
A whole new generation of fans got hooked on INXS and Fortune's sexy moves when he was competing in a reality TV star search. The prize was a job as lead singer for the band.
Fortune replaced original frontman Michael Hutchence, who committed suicide.
Some have criticized the band for replacing Hutchence, saying they can never be INXS without him.
The band pushed the envelope further, starting their first tour with Fortune singing Suicide Blonde.
Critics of the reborn band were drowned out Wednesday night at the sold out show. The crowd was on its feet, loving Fortune's enthusiasm and sex appeal.
He caressed his body and the mike stand, looking intensely at the audience.
Fortune was the focus. The other band members seemed thrilled to be back on stage together, but could only point to Fortune at the end of the rocking show and hug him.
The 32-year-old Nova Scotia native didn't miss a beat as he blistered through the old hits. Half the set was made up of the INXS of old and their chart toppers: New Sensation, Original Sin, Devil Inside.
Fortune co-wrote several songs on the band's new album Switch and they blended in with the band's overall sound.
The single, Pretty Vegas, was pretty amazing against a backdrop of a movie screen that flashed neon lights, showgirls and money.
The crowd didn't want to let Fortune go when he ground through the broody Never Tear Us Apart.
He lit a cigarette and walked off stage, reminding people that this is only the beginning.
The band hits Toronto Feb. 6 and 7.

Did anyone else check the show out? I have to admit...they are worth listening to.

From what i heard of people who went, they thought he did a great job. Grabbed his crotch alot and only made 1 mistake on the words.

Without knowing about the show he was hired from, if you just heard his voice you'd think Micheal was still with us!

Someone mentioned to me that there was another show starting up with a band looking for a new member.
Anyone know who it is?
