Hardly a championship side when Derby, Wigan, Middlesbrough, and Bolton ;) are competing for those honours...

Seriously, good for Eck, bad for Scotland...He is/was the right man for Scotland, but still too young to not be in day to day running of a football club.

he had his challenges at Rangers, Sir David Murray was at his penny pinching best while Big Eck was at Rangers, and aside from Prso (Bosman) Boumsong (Bosman) and Novo (Pinched from Dundee for a bottle of Bucky) he had nothing to spend and had rubbish players as a result (Capucho, Emerson, ostenstad, Nietto, etc) He also had MOST of his quality players move along because he couldn't afford to keep them (Arteta, De Boers, Mols(injuries) ) and STILL delivered many trophys...Something Walter Smith and Ally McCoist have not done yet at Rangers

He has shown he make something out of nothing...at Rangers on a shoestring budget, and with 'diddy' nation Scotland in the Euro (albeit they built most of the steam under Wattie)

Pending this takeover, he may well still have loads of cash come January...

Good Luck to him...now the SFA has to find a replacement...Billy Davies? Graeme Souness? Wee Gordon Strachan(Booooo!!!)
