Re: North Shore Coaches League 2004/05

A great start for us this year, not reaching for the cup just yet, it's back to reality with us facing Nordic next week. Maybe we can plan the parade route after that.

lupoman[/QUOTE]

Lupoman,

Excellent win today. I guess we are tied at the top of the table. Doesn't really matter though, check out the FVSL masters site, everyone else is disgracefully inferior to this super Rangers team (just have a look at their posts fcuk they must be good  ).

All I can say is WE SUCK!

We looked real good against Pegasus in the warm-up, but it went south real quick after that.

Funny moment just after the start of the 2nd half, I said to one of our beleagured outside backs.( the one who took a shot, point blank in the nads)

You know they are a stacked team when Ken Harris doesn't come on till half.

His repy was, no I am sure I seen him run by me 4 or 5 times. Hillarious, but you probably had to be there, which Coveside wasn't today.

Also by the sounds of it, NorVan handled Malones fairly easily...

Hardly. They definately got the score but if the game was scored by chances we would've won the match quite handely. Once we figure out how to shoot we might get a break and beat this team. Against teams like Norvan, 2 clearcut breakaways and one left post getting the better of the shooter inside the six and we'll find ourselves on the losing side of the score.

Better this week with 3 against an improved Blueridge. Good on Lupo - tied for top spot.

Biggs thanks for the clarification on your NorVan game, was just commenting on the NorVan 2 Malones 0 final score...feel much better now that I know what really happened out there... :D

Post game at Griffin....

So there we were last Sunday, us and Lynn Valley having a couple of post game pops in the stands at Griffin, having a great time. :D ...bsing about the game, taking the piss at the Lynn Valley boys, watching Andy Dudley's (from Coveside) U18 boys play Fraserview, when this arse comes over and tells us that we are setting a bad example for these fine "youths" by drinking at the park, and that he has called not only the rec comm to complain but has also called the cops! I mean we had the coolers closed, we were using cups, the only way you could tell if it was beer was if you stuck your nose in one of them. Didn't even bother to say, "hey guys, this is a youth game, could you move further away?"....nope straight to the cops, who I might add were totally cool when they showed up. One of my non-drinkers went up and had a chat with them, and their responce was that they had to come by because there was a complaint, but seeing as the coolers were closed, he could not see any open liquor and we were just sitting there minding our own business, he did not see a problem and left. Total bullshite, just another youth soccer grandstand play to get senior soccer off the parks.Wake up....were are your little darlings going to play when you have run off all the senior leagues? Twats.

Re: North Shore Coaches League 2004/05

Lupoman,

Now thats a good use of police resources  your tax dollar at work!

We have come up with a solution to this problem. For after the game sideline pints, we have purchased a tent with walls and no windows with a Karaoke machine inside...you have not lived until you have seen Pipes' rendition of Endless Love...

Best of luck in your efforts to stay top of the table this weekend...we will be sticking our heads out of the tent from time to time for a look...

Re: North Shore Coaches League 2004/05

Sir M ........ I will be bringing the tea urn as well as a full cooler of diet carbonated beverages this weekend as I am always one to obey the law. Maybe this guy, who has such a hard-on for post sporting event beverages, should spend a weekend with Jua, Spadapeep and Ginger in Seattle so he becomes a little more tolerant on pints with citrus. I'm sure he would be pleased with 1 1/2 litres of Ernest & Julio's finest on his floor mats. .........oooppss, I forgot, this is a soccer thread. Pegs will be sporting a new kit this weekend in their match vs. LV. Trying to keep pace with Chico, I wore it out to Seymour and the Lynnwood last night and it was a crowd favorite ........... nobody really needed to know that I wasn't Randall Celebrini.

Looking forward some soccer in the sun this weekend ....... and a few post match beverages in some plastic cups. Beer prices will be increased to offset this added cost.

Lupoman, hope we have a clash of the undefeated in a couple weeks. Keep the streak alive.

Sir M....
You should have a cover charge at the tent flap...once people hear that Pipes will be there offering his vocal stylings  , you're going to have stampedes wanting to get in! :D Maybe the officer who came by to visit us last weekend will bounce for you....just a thought.

Jags...
Hope to keep the streak going, we are in tough this week with Nordic who should be hungry after picking up only one point in their first two games. Always a good match between us, I won't be there tomorrow, Mrs. lupoman and myself get to become god parents.....somebody should have thought a little harder about that one! Good luck tomorrow, we look forward to a "clash of the titans" ;) in a few weeks.

Look for Nordic to lump the ball up the field, you will hear Tibor, yell it constantly. Also TTP out of the left back, about his headband, and his heavy flow.

You will love the reaction, he can reach higher notes than any diva!

Re: North Shore Coaches League 2004/05

Two scores that I know about this Sunday were CSide 8, Seymour 1 in the battle of the Covers...in the Central NVan tilt it was Pegasus 9, Lynn Valley (who the overanxious self described greatest master team in recent memory FVSL RangerFireinmypants who the real Peg cannot wait to play were calling LynnValley Peg at the Bby Cdns tournament  )... 0. Rumour is JAGS may post a game report...The other 2 games were the latest in a series of postponements  :(

Tee/Lupoman what happened in the Nordic/Lupo match, stayed in the Karaoke tent the whole game... :bronco:

I do know from the far reaches off the Carson Graham Secondary school parking lot(were not allowed to drink at the field ya know) that Norvan lost to Malones 4-3.

Nordic beat Lupoman 5-0, but at least they didn't get busted for drinking today!

We beat Seymour 8-1  , 6-0 at the half, we tried not to score in the second, but they are that bad we ended up with 2 more, gave a way a bad peno, to lose Cloudy's goose egg!

Half time talk had lotsa comments, about showing class, and not running up the score, ala Norvan, or Brolly, when he bagged 7 against CAS    .

Coasted thru the 2nd half, and enjoyed the pints after. Watched the Norvan Vs Malones friendly, from high on a grassy knoll, thru binoculars

Re: North Shore Coaches League 2004/05

Sir M ..... good to see you made it to work 4 minutes before your most recent client might have complained about having to stay for dinner. Just back from the Peg fundraiser in Surrey and the place was crawling with citrus. Not a NS Coaches League score, but Peg 1 v. Fireman 1. Okay, onto our match. It was a fresh crisp dewy morning, but let's not talk about Davey's boxer briefs. Pegs, fresh off a 2-0 start were chomping at the bit to play the newly formed Ram Valley (sounds like a bad porn ........ very similar to "Whose Shaving Ryan's Privates"). Confidence was brewing in the Peg den when Davey once again showed up right at game time muttering the words "I still have no idea how my vehicle drove itself home". Sir M, fresh off a late night shift at Aqua (or Funkywinkerbeans ....... I always get them confused), looked down his depth chart of goaltenders and selected Davey to be in the pipes ......... since he was the only one wearing the new Peg reds. Peg wearing their new Real Madrid all white kit (with a touch of black piping) took it to the Lynn Valley lads and knocked the ball around very very well in the first 15 min. The score line resembled the play and it was 4-0 very early on. With 5-0 at the half, Sir M felt compeled to try lady luck and put yours truly and Jua in the center at the back and the blunt bodied Peastooge up front with his folickly challenged counterpart, Rude. A few more battles in the box, an errant cross by CoHo finding the net and the final was 9 - 0. Everbody played well and it was a great day for football. LV bunch were a great group of guys, who never gave up until the end. Refereeing was exceptional this week as he went unnoticed. We took our fully stocked cooler up to the Griffin Karaoke skybox (thanks to the connection Jua has) and sipped a couple red eyes, pints with citrus and Marleau had his standard 6 cider while watching Nordic v. Lupo. Unfortunately, no guest appearances from Simon LeBon, but I guess he is saving himself for Thursday night when he is dualing with Pipes belting out a powerful rendition of Endless Love . It was 4-0 Nordic when I left, with Tee and Gary Pale Ale scoring for the No Dick mob. Clearly the difference was that the Lupodians were missing Lupoman (prior commitment at a barmitzfa) to guide their team to another victory. Lupo did look good early on, but suffered when they were down a couple and pushing forward. Next week we are onto Malone's ....... no, we will not be sitting in Kits having pints on the patio (but what a great idea).
Season record is 3 - 0 with 17 for and 1 against with some tough games coming up.

Re: North Shore Coaches League 2004/05

Jags,

Nice game report...I like your posts way better when you are hammered. :p I see some interesting games this weekend ie Cside/Nvan, us vs Biggs et al, Freybe vs Blewridge. Any predictions? I predict with the return of the swashbuckling centerback Lupoman, the Lupine ones will return to their winning form against a Seymour team who again will be without their crazy suspended player who scores most of their goals. I think C/side vs NVan may be the closest one of the works...

Anyone else's thoughts?

Re: North Shore Coaches League 2004/05

So while I was at the barmitzfa.....sounds like there wasn't much reason to still your head out of the karaoke tent, except maybe when Pipes' falcetto got to be a little too much. :D There were a few miscues from what I understand, only one of the lads had the nerve to call and give a match report. There'll be hell to pay at training this week, Mrs. Lupoman will be running our sorry asses into the ground after that showing. Seymour coming off that 8-1 shelling won't be in a happy mood, should be a hard fought game that hopefully sees the Lupites return to their winning ways.

I think you all overestimate your footballing ability.
Sitting from way up here anyway. ;)
Who are you all again?
I just happened to stumble on this little piece of thread.

But, granted, your posts are indeed far more comical and interesting, therefore superior. :D

When do we set up the match JAGS?

Rangerforever,

Welcome to our friendly little thread!! It is truly an honour to have a member of the mighty Rangers of the vaunted FVSL drop us a line!! Don't think I will ever wash my fingertips again!!!

As for who we are, we are are the ones that so very luckily defeated your SFF mates in the Provincials in 2002  , but of course since your merger you are even more of a power house I am sure.... :D

We are busying ourselves right now trying to qualify for the opportunity to play some teams from across the inlet in the BCs and of course honing our Karaoke skills :bronco: . Maybe we can host you over the Christmas break for a friendly little match, we could use the lesson

Best of luck in your league battles, your thread is quite ascerbic, and therefore one of my favourites! :D :D

Cheers Sir M.
Wait til we shake hands, you won't need to wash the whole hand thereafter. ;)

You guys make me piss actually.
Funny, funny shite.
Original, vintage TTP.

New to this Over 35 stuff and don't know much about the whole BC set up.

How many come out of your league to qualify?
I thought there was something goofy about the age group on the North Shore?
Are you still just O-30s?
And therefore only some of your mates can play later?

We honestly thought we were playing Peg until the day of that match actually at WesBurn.
They (Lynn Valley) had a lad on there who went ballistic on us and was swinging flurries of punches while one of our guys did his best De La Hoya impersonation.
I didn't know Masters was so competitive.
Also, we Whalleyites have nothing on you North Shore toughies.

Honestly, a match up your way in the mountains, or down here past the river, right at the pawn shop, left at the crack house, can be arranged sometime.
It would be good to know the competition before our foregone conclusion qualification into the provincials. ;)

Re: North Shore Coaches League 2004/05

RF, :)

The way the BCs work is 6 go in from WCOTSL, 3 from our league, 3 from your league, although there have been complaints that we should have 2 and you 4 over the past few years...the remainder are from the Island. Our league does allow some over 30s players who are of course not eligible for the Provicial championships, and this has hurt some of the NS teams over the years... Some teams rely a bit more heavily on under 35 types and pay the price in the BCs...some others such as our side have less under 35 players and usually fare a bit better, but not as well as FVSLers who are probably the deepest league out there...but cannot match the Peg Karaoke skills. We also have really good looking birds whose curtains dont necessarily match the carpet on the sidelines :wa:

We were defeated last year by PAU on a last minute extra time goal, they were a great bunch of bastards and terminally injured like half a dozen of our players...if you guys are anything like them it would be great to kick it around against you over the break maybe and scout eachother out...meanwhile keep up the hilarious TTP posts on your site and jump in to stir things up on this thread when you get the chance, there are only about half a dozen of us who ever post here anyway  , we could use the prompting...the recurrent FVSL theme is that we are shite up here and our shtick is that we won't let you over the bridge without shots anyway... :D

Cheers.

The NSCl will happily provide a turf slot on an upcoming Thursday evening, 9:15pm KO, for you two teams to go at it. I will put lots of tokens on Peg!! :D

Does the FVSL play the thanksgiving weekend, as we don't, both teams won;t have to worry about w/e games. I seriously doubt Seymour will be able to field a team for Thursday Oct 7th cup game vs Coveside  . So that time slot will probably be available! Let me know?

I hear Peg has a great Karoke tent!
