Gilly, we should be celebrating with the banner but unfortunately the Port Moody keeper had something to say about that. They are a good team but we controled the game bar a 15 minute span in the second half. Our boys were fantastic and deserved better than a loss in a penalty shootout. However, that's life and sadly the South Delta boys team will never have a better opportunity to win the Provincial title. I'm gutted right now because we played well. I would have rather been pumped by 2 or 3 than lose on penalties. Either way, a great year for the Devils and the boys should be very proud of their accomplishments. Having our captain would have been very useful but he received his 3rd yellow card yesterday and had to sit out.
Mauricio did the final and did a good job. Overall the officiating was good except in one game.........

Unlucky Burnsie....Must be the first time in the history of High School Provincial Sports that the 16th seed (last seed) wins the BC Championship. Perhaps the powers that be need to do a better job of a more accurate seeding system?!?!
Good season though.....the boys should be proud of their effort, and the sacrifice of their coach.

The Valley was so tight this year that we knew any one of the five teams could have won the Provincials. As it turned out, we were right. Unfortunately for us, it wasn't South Delta.
The wheels are in motion though......
For the record, we were seeded 5th......but the seedings system is completely out of whack when it comes to soccer because there really is no seedings system. It's a bit of roulette, which coincidentally wasn't very good for me on Wednesday night.
