Burnaby vs. Poco

The score was probably indicative of how the game was played a month or so ago, particularly in the second half when they outplayed us quite a bit, but in reality it was just a friendly. No emotion, no intensity; and both teams had just a skeleton of their full lineup. I know we had six guys from our CAT and Div. 1 sides who played lots during the game and I think Burnaby had a few, too, so it is not a true indication of what would really happen if both teams had a full compliment of players.

We can compete with anyone in that league - we may not win - but we can definitely compete. We are certainly not afraid to play anyone come cup time.

Sheep shagger, you got some VMSL people pretty riled up over there on that Geeks thread, but you had better have some substance to back those statements up. From where I sit, you seem to be a skilled player without the (s).:p

That is one Monkeys opinion.

You mean you're not afraid of Ginger Thonpkins and the Mighty Burnaby Canadians?
Don't you know you may feel the wrath of Hands of Stone?

hands of stone

He batted a few around like a ping pong ball. One free kick banged off the post. First half was a decent game, second half was a little ragged, it was more of a scrimmage than anything.

I do seem to remember POCO spanked them in their own tourney not too long ago. (3 or 4-0)

Bored,

I believe that your are correct, in that same tourny did PoCo not beat Surrey United(FVSL All-Stars) 2-1, and lose to Indo 1-0?

As for the Burnaby Game, all it was a good scrimmage at best. We had 5-6 div 1 players on the pitch at all times. Div 1 players played well and we all had a bit of fun. Very flattering score for PoCo? think not, Bby only had 3 shots on net, sure the had most of the play in the second half, but could not do anything with it. Both goals they had came in the last 20 min.

I think last year POCO beat Croatia 4-0, that was a flattering score for Croatia, brutal.

hey "stuart " bring the crown!!

rumor has it your not starting on friday night . mr solk has called up the sheep shagger to fill the ugly hole you"ve created on the pitch. in all my years of soccer i"ve never come across someone as tragic as you. for the love of god i could not believe one time watching you running around checking your own players, and shooting on your own net.It is your lack of talent and your ability to always crack under pressure to cause this disturbing post. We"ve even been thinking about putting a block on your ttp privelages.

Hey 'I_Love_Sheep'

Are you going to watch soccer this friday night, seeing as you are a big fan? Will you be on the sidelines wearing your favorite 'wool' sweater? I'll keep my eyes open!

Poco Boys

Most of the POCO boys should be there because they could learn a few things from GEU.
RP,Billy, and Skytrain should all show up with pen and paper.

A gong show is right I'll bet. If you 'throwbacks' were to spend a lttle more time trying to play soccer instead of trying to figure out 'what the drink of choice' is you may not be stuck in the middle of the pack.

Is it tough to be in the position that all you can do is sit back and hope for other teams to lose?
(sorry sons of bitches) Thank-you for your well though out analysis of the Poco team.

It's no wonder that the VMSL guys TTP out of the Valley guys, read most of these posts and I think - "what a bunch of deadbeats"
Its no wonder inbreading is such a problem in Maple Ridge, your goal each night is to get so drunk that you don't know what is going on. Nailing ones sister or cousin is probably considered a lucky little bonus.

Prediction: lot of empty beer cans, broken bottles, lots of hugging and tripping over each other.

Score: doesn't matter because the teams will be tied for 5th at the end of the season regardless of the outcome.

Is a soccer day only a soccer day? Can it not be a soccer/drinking day?

Besides, I have been to one of your games and there is definately some drinking going on at your games as well.
How about all the inbreds from your CAT and Div 1 squads standing around and getting hammered at your game.

Or how about the chilli being served on the sidelines at your last game. That would explain why you guys have to do so much running at your practices, to burn off all that post game food.

I think maybe we should bring a barbecue and do up a Turkey tonight at our game.

HMMMMMMMM!!!!

Half the fun is being with your mates, drinking beer and hanging out, no doubt.

The drinking is great, just the obsession gets a little tiresome. Maple Ridge seems to takes the drinking more seriously than the game.

Having a soccer game is a good excuse to get drunk, maple ridge seems to think that getting drunk is a good excuse to have a soccer game.
