Thought I'd throw this out there. Thinking of building perhaps this year and just wanted to see what the going rate on various trades are these days. Framers, electricians, plumbers, finishers, etc etc..... So if you are one, or know one your input would be very much appreciated. Union swine need not reply!!:D

Head to the local remedial highschool - grab a few kids just breaking their teeth in the various trades. Based on current BC labor laws you should be able to pay them 5$ an hour for their first 250 hours and then bump them to $8.75 ( I think). Since you're not prepared to pay for high quality craftmanship (union workers) this is your next best bet. Good luck.

....you mean like the high quality crafstmanship produced by GM, FORD and Chrysler over the last half century. Please don't make me laugh!!

Now is probably a good time to look into trades as their all out of work due to the economy and the housing market. Not sure on rates anymore as I built 2 years ago now during the boom. I found that I did alot myself which is surprising that the place is still standing!

I was once called out by another TTPer a few years back for saying someone was as sharp as a bag of hammers. He may have had a point now that I think about it.

I think the correct saying is that someone is as dense as a sack of hammers.

You could also say that someone is as sharp as a doorknob...though with all those fancy levers they sell now-a-days, you might get called on this as well.

Back on topic...I need summer employment. If you need grunt labour, tiling, or painting... I work for about $50 per hour less than what Trece charges.

Sharp like fish.
Strong like tractor.
Smart like refrigerator.

Not going to get into a bidding war; I'm a specialist. I'm supposed to be expensive.:D
