Well that was the best 6 day match I've ever been a part of.

Poco 5-4 WestVan in PK's

Overtime started right were regulation ended 5 days before. Fast and furious.
I thought it would be weird starting off with 10 but we adjusted quickly.


First 15 went really quickly with no chances either way.

Second 15 had WestVan push another big man up front to get the game winner rather than have PK's and the big defenseman got a through ball and dribbles it into the net off his shin. The mis-hit threw off the keeper who only got a piece but not enough.

Then it was time kill. West Van kept possession and received a free kick from about 25 yards out middle of the park and not surprisingly shot it about 30 yards over the net. I think I heard some one from the sidelines say " either score or miss the net", well he missed the net as well as the backstop and fencing.

Poco then took possession and put a ball to the corner where Blake's got past the defenseman one on one with Keeper and beat him short side to tie it up with a minute left and off to PK's.

Poco had 1 miss and WestVan had 2 saved.

Game over.

Have to give my appreciation to WestVan since their luck at Gates with weather an lights has not been good this season.

Teams make their own luck in my view and I will not comment on some of the comments made from the sidelines, as I did not hear many of them. Bottom line is, a team that gives up a tying goal with 9 minutes to go the first time around, and then again in a second match up again with 70 seconds to go probably does not deserve to go through, luck or no luck.
