@Sir M where did you get that list of 10 teams? The excellent site shows EDC in Masters Prem and Stallions in D1.

    Croatia 3 - 1 VUFC

Croatia came out strong and had the majority of possession out of the gate. They weren't gun shy and some early season rust must have seen a handful of balls land at the train station from Trillium. lol
Our keeper made a couple of fine saves to keep it level and we had to scramble the ball out of our end a few times as they were looking like scoring. However, we took the lead around 35 mins when I rounded Didar and slipped it in on a tight angle. We had started to get back in to the game and it felt like it was going to be a good night for us when Croatia scored a couple of fortuitous goals. A cross in to our box should have been dealt with with a first timed clearance, instead our player tried to control the ball and his touch inadvertently teed up a Croatian who easily slotted it home from a few yards out. Then Croatia was awarded a PK. It was confusing as our defender and their player(without the ball) collided in the box. It looked clumsy on both their parts to be honest. Maarten fired the PK to the left side of goal off of the fingertips of our keeper! I can't remember their 3rd goal with any clarity sorry. We turned up the pressure for the last 15 mins but couldn't find the back of the net as they were wilting from fatigue and injuries. Not the result we wanted but it's a long season. On to next week.

    Week one final scores:

    Metro Ford 6 PCOV 1
    West Van 4 Columbus 2
    Westside 2 EDC Burnaby 1
    Flying Horses 2 Romania 2
    Croatia 3 VUFC 1

Similar to last year, especially teams near the top, and teams near the bottom.

    Week 2 Predictions:
MetroFord vs Croatia - Hard to bet against the champs...ever.
VUFC vs Flying Horses - Every game is an important game for us :/
Flying Horses with a respectable draw last week!
Romania vs Chile - The new boys notch their first victory in style
Columbus vs PCOV - Not much to choose from between these two sides
Westside vs Westvan - Usual slow starters Westside go back to their slow starting ways

Westvan vs Westside will be a good one as a West Van starter for over the last decade has this year signed with Westside instead.

It was heartwarming to reunite with two-nine on the pitch again…

    VUFC 3 - 1 Flying Horses

Fun game under the lights at Memorial. Both squads had some chances but we put ours away. Our keeper came up with a huge save 5 minutes in to the game as he robbed their forward on a break away. It could have been a different game if that had gone in. The frame of the goal kept it from being a blow out as we hit a crossbar and two posts. They also missed the net on another breakaway. Fairly clean game. On to next week!

I watched that game with Eagles. The difference was goaltending, big gap between the two teams at that position this eve.

First 10-15 mins the ponies came with speed up high but that didn't last long. Maybe the insertion of @two-nine :) Maybe fitness.

WV goalie certainly not the strongest but I think a fair result. We hit the woodwork a few times and WV missed a couple. @sixfyv mostly with maintenance work and not really having to stop any shots.
