Firetown 4 Indo 1

Disappointing result today! I think the real reason for the loss was the non-kosher pizza some of the lads ate on Friday night. (Leave it alone Jinky) Nothing like a little soup-ass the day before and of your match.

We battled hard in the first half and were unsuccessful in putting a few in early. Firetown took the play to us in the second half and converted their chances.

The little plonker that studded Ninja was lucky to get a yellow. Not sure of the ref's name, NO BALLS seems appropriate, could have set the tone right away. Instead, he opened it up for players to get their studs up. In the end it was not a dirty game, Todd got stuck into Cookie quite nicely, but that wouldn't happen if the earlier call is made.

With that said, we did not play in the second half and Lakeshow's goal simply added to his season's total.

We'll have to pick up the pieces for another divisional battle on the turf at Mercer next week.

Sandman how do you figure you should have been up 3-0 at half.

Animal,

I said up by 3 at half................could have been 4-1, 5-2, 6-3.......get the picture;). Further, Congratulations, to the Firemen (I guess that is what you guys want to be called now) for beating us for the first time EVER! Can't polish you boys off every time we play ya;)

Run him over while he's down...

Anyone know where HOS is right now? I have a stroller with his name on it. I'll check the bridges first.

:knvb:

Anyone want to bet Azzi writes this up as an emphatic win?

Shocking game by every Khalsa player today, we could not defend or even make a 5 yard pass. Khalsa defender let Carlos walk by him in the first 2 min. of the game and we are down 1-nil early again. Carlos with his second on another breakaway on a bad mistake from our back line, and it is 2-nil at half. We really didn't create anything and were terrible from back to front.

Second half is 45 min. I would love to forget, but here goes. Paulo did strike that well, but come on, he was all alone on the left side of the park, the marking by the Khalsa YBK was terrible, he walks in all alone, I was back peddling and he hits it as I am backing up and out of position, good on him for seeing me out and having the hit. The goal when my gloves were off came as I thought it was safe to tie my boots as we had a throw in in the Sporting half, but on that day nothing was safe, Sporting humped down the park, and scored again.

Ugly, Ugly day today, I think we may even be worse than Smallsy's Westside group, I am hoping for lots of rain and cancellations now, we need to find a way to regroup from this.

Walks (The Ethnic Specialist) was good in the middle, but the bastard wouldn't call the game with 15 to go.

Man no offence hands of stone but to see that must of been funny obviously not for you though. I think all goalies have been in that situation before but allways get there gloves back on in time. I suggest you get velcro shoes for your next match, no laces,no problems.

I think that we are all missing the obvious piss take and that is would it have mattered if he had his gloves on?

Sandman et al i dont really think that Danny's tackle on Ninja deserved a red. It was a late tackle and definately deserved a yellow but i dont think he had any intent to injure Rick. It was just a bad tackle. Toddy's yellow was definately deserved as i was on a full break away and he was desperately trying to hold me back so if i had of just gone down it would have been a red. So the yellow was deserved. Toddy got his revenge though and stuck me with a pretty hard tackle. I am still trying to figure out where i am and why the fcuk my knee and ankle hurt so much. The story i think today was that we finished our dinner pure and simple. I hit the crossbar once and didnt finish my chances but theres nothing really new there. I love going from last place to tied for 2nd in one game. Wow what a feeling where our whole side is above the last four teams on the otherside of the table.

I did have one glove back on, and the shot was to that side, so no the gloves on or off did not matter.
Still don't get the piss take, but I am sure that knvb or Larsson will fill me in.

Walks,

Well I think Lake would be fine as even he had to figure he got off easy with just a yellow for the three punches he threw at Woody. Millar though, he still wanted to tear a strip off of yah in the change rooms an hour after the game:rolleyes: something about him never touching Steve and that he dived over his studs:D .................

Took in about 25 minutes of the Indo vs Fireman game yesterday. Arriving at half time I ran into some Fireman spectators and players not dressed and they all told me that Peter and Cookie were running all over Indo and should have been up by a few...........not just the one they were ahead by. Spoke to Sandman after the match and he said Indo were unlucky not to be up by a few after the first half.................anyone else with an opinion:rolleyes:

Always nice to watch Indo play, they try and play no matter what the conditions. Couldn't find some regulars from there lineup though, both Ollie and Auj were not available and I think it showed as there final ball forward was lacking. Fireman looked average but obviously finished there chances well and in the end that is all that matters.

Shouldn't TTPers be made aware of such facts before we make our weekly picks?

What the...

Come on HOS, you make Paulo's goal seem like you let it go in. And you also make it seem like he walked in to somewhere close to the 18. He blasted in from 45 yards out and you didn't move. Actually it reminded me of the strike Figo had in Euro 2000 versus England, the only difference was that Figo hit the top corner and Paulo hit the bottom one.

Give credit where credit is due, it was a great goal.

I do think that you didn't have a chance on any of the goals though.

HOS if you really need me to explain i will enlighten you. You let 6 goals past you and i dont think it would have mattered if you had gloves on or not b/c the shot still would have beat you with or without your gloves on.

Khalsa

The last three weeks have been absolutely shits for Khalsa. Every player has played the shits and no one person can be faulted. As a team we are playing awful right now. The game on Sunday was one of the worst I have ever been apart of. HOS had no chance on any of the goals. Stupid dumb defensive errors lead to all the goals. Sporting came out strong and we were not able to match them.

Our backs are against the wall right now but we will overcome this. We just need to play with the same passion as we did for the first 4-5 games. Hopefully we will show some pride (we were lacking it on Sunday) next week as we are facing a big character test.

Gomsey, please stop all the self love I'm starting to feel ill. Anything from fourty fcuking five yards is more than savable. Even though Khalsa decided to prop up a garbage can in the middle of the net there is no reason a ball should travel that far that fast that any average keeper couldn't save it... and HOS.

Beaker,

I think if you saw it you might think twice about what you just said, it was struck fcking well. If any average keeper can save shots from 40yrds out how do you explain some of the shots in the professional leagues. Even the best get caught at the worst moments, and HOS didn't have a good moment on Sunday:D .

Now go ice your back :knvb:

Cheers

It's all your fault you know...

JB and Team-pat-our-own-backs, I'm sure it was a superlative effort, one of which the VMSL will never see again, well until Sportings next goal. I bet you guys had a big dog pile celebration after didn't you? Why change though. Right?

As part of the goalkeeper's union, I would ask that you please refrain from insinuating that inanimate objects can fill our position in the workplace.

How would you like it if I came into Arby's, kicked you off the curly fry machine and replaced you with a series of levers and pulleys? Levers and pulleys never throw their backs out attempting overhead soccer kicks, nor do they try to plead Workers Compensation after doing so. Yet this is one of those instances, much like a 6-0 drubbing, where humans are best left to deal with the job. Levers and pulleys could never ask customers if they want fries with that.

Of course, this garbage can reference really goes a long way in explaining why my gloves smell like month-old compost.

Why not? It worked for Homer. Remember the 'rod'? It won Employee of the Month. HOS and Homer have a lot in common, at least in terms of being replaced by inanimate objects. Except, I don't think Homer ever let in 6 goals OR a goal from 45 yards, OR a goal with one glove on. :D Great stuff.
