Re: Kamloops Tourney August Long

thanks for the info guys.

we are playing in Rec A. we've had a couple of girls drop out, i am expecting to go up with 14 (but i gimped my knee so more like 13 1/2) and hopefully pick up one or two more. seems people come up with injuries easily at these things (hmmm suspiciously after a night of hard drinking  ) our goalie is out with an injury too, so that sucks, i am sure it will be fun anyways, hopefully it'll all work out.

CHAB:

I think we've got a keeper now; the organizer hooked us up with a local guy looking for a team to play for. You're not thinking of the Irish Bike Specialist, are you?

Actually, both Dougie and Jimmy have mentioned in previous years that they'd be interested in coming up with us, but we've had full rosters. This year, we don't seem to, so the 3 of you (pianos and all) are more than welcome to join Team Pylon when your coaching duties will permit it. I know your orange colouring will fit right in with the rest of us, so bring your kit, you lazy old fart.... :D

Not to worry about Munchkin - our players are all fine gentlemen:rolleyes: who would be more than glad to show a rookie around the Kamloops sights.

beerZ (we'll have at least a few in the gardens for Bob),

There are some things even very, very thick beer goggles will not help. We may have to cordon you off to protect the general beer-consuming public.

Drastic measures may need to be taken....

You will not be able to contain the beast, tying would be futile. ;)

Delta Highlanders:

Sat 9:45am vs Delta Blaze
(no way they could have split up 2 Delta teams in this tourney  )

Sat 3:00pm vs Honda North
(I'm just glad its not Honda East...I hear they are tough :D )

Sun 8:30am vs St Albert Rangers
(most likely a U19 fit team that is there to win...once again first team out of the tourney and bad rocker kit Sunday begins)

Every year, "Can it get any better?"

The answer: Yes :wa:

Well, I like our schedule. Lots of time between games usually means an easy victory for honda North. I hope the st. albert rangers have a sense of humor because every team we play on sund. morning gets a little bit of a surprise....and a win! :D
Well Delta Blaze, that leaves you guys as our only win of the tourney. Sorry, process of elimination.....we only win one every year.

I'm sure the boyz will be hoping things go bad up there this year. We have played on the Monday the past 4 years and it is really a stupid thing to do after the dance.

Do you know which field? I'm only asking so as to make sure I end up there Friday night after the gong show, otherwise I probably won't make it. :D

Well another debauched drunken lost weekend gone by....

Highlanders:

The daisy dukes were hideous, especially whoever the hell that was with the dreadlocked pubes... well done! Where DO you find a Joe Dirt wig like that? You guys and Army's crew livened up a far-too-sedate beer garden..

Army: did you ever get to distribute your helmets? Last time I saw you, your crew had gone into hiding....:D

Good to see CHAB and Bonefish (thankfully not together); I'm sure CHAB has some horror stories to tell about trying to keep the girls intact. Also really glad to see Eddie Mannion kicking a ball in anger again (and his smurfed friend)....

Kind of shocking that the gardens were so quiet - did everybody just decide to stay home this weekend? There were many times that you could fire a cannon through there without hitting a stray nipple - not a good sign.

Any feedback on the dance this year? I couldn't make it due to a family emergency, so I'm hoping that the Le Chateau girls I ordered showed up again as requested, and that the Guinness-raping incidents were kept to a minimum this year.:D

BeerZ to ya,

The weekend did have its moments. I was lucky enough to get to play in the tourney considering I broke my hand at noon on Friday. It is amazing what a bit of tape and Advil can accomplish. Despite shiiting the bed in 2 out of 3 of our prelim games, we did get to the Open B Cup Final on some very complex algebraic forumlas (I know this is exciting but please hold the applause). In this titanic match, the Drunks beat the Drunkards in OT. I am sure most players on the pitch wished they were(played like they were) still in bed.

Props to the:
-See thru thong wearing streaker, who duly recieved a red card from an offical that was in the area.
-The team with the yellow, "I Love ______" t-shirts.
-The antics of the team dressed in army fatigues with their 11 man goal line stand to start their games

The dance was O.K. It was fun watching a team mate proposition about 40 girls with the same line, some of them twice. It took a while for the "action" start. Most of the night is blurry however from the case of beer+ I knocked back...

For the record, the Highlanders, the Team with the " I Love ..." shirts, and the Team with the 11-man wall are all the same team, not sure if BlazeArmy's crew did the wall as well, but if they did, good on em. No on-side kick this year, but it seemed the more we tried to let teams score, the less they could.

Great Weekend again this year. Countdown and saving for next year begins today.

All Hail Smurf 'Smurfy' Nolte
