Thanks for the congratulations boys (Dude, sixfyv, bored)

I'm sure there were many who did not want to see us win, and the truth is there is always a little 'healthy dislike' for most opponents in this league. Piss-takes aside though, I believe there is also an underlying respect that is shared among sides, and individuals.

How about this 'battle of the weathered warriors'? :D

Nice to make your acquaintance on the pitch again bored.

Sorry I missed the Final boys but I had to take my son to his Whitecap's tryout. Well done! You guys deserve it. Great cast of characters from the purple gnome to the stripper.

Congrats! :)

whats with the guy on the top right of the team picture. He doesn't have a medal and is clearly faking being excited.

Just wondering which team Billy jackson played for in the 80's Delta ? Aldergrove ?

The other guy going back to the 80's is Snowman. He won the Pak in '89 with the Coq. Celtic, and again in '90 with Poco (an offshoot from Celtic/metroford Teaside).... so he bypassed the 90's. He also won the Bradner Cup in 87 and 89, and went to the provincial final both those years. Can't remember if they won the provincials though.

Anyone else?

I know they used to call these the "Triple Crown".
What ever happened to the Bradner Cup, why isn't it still played?

I will go out on a limb here and guess that no valley team has ever completed "the triple".

The triple is only available to Valley teams, but I seem to remember back when Coq. Celtic won the Pak and Bradner, and played in the provincial final. I can't find any info previous to "93 though, and this would have been in '89.

Can you dip into the archives again for me brother? :D

Yours truly has a Pakenham Cup MVP from '87.
Or was it '88?
I forget - the Alzheimers is kicking in.
I'll need to look at the stocked trophy shelf at the bar in my Old Man's basement...

We've been to the dance a few times in the 80s, 90's, and don't even get me going about the Millennium. ;)
Actually, I can't remeber if we actually won it in the 80s.
I think we lost a couple of times in the final back then.

But, that is well done Billy. :)

Welcome to the Elite.

:bronco:

Guru:

The Bradner became the President's.
They revamped the competition and removed the Premier teams from it.

And, Celtic sucks.

So the provincial cup is apart of this valley "triple", correct? Again, I will go out on a limp and say that no valley team has ever completed the "triple".

Are you talking about the provincials here? Because no one from the Valley has won the prov. from 93 on. (only found records from '93)http://www.bcsoccer.net/bcm/bcsocce...857EDE318ECF412187256E77007CB617?OpenDocument

I had my suspicions of that because of the dates on the FV web site archives.
But thanks for the the confirmation.

If he played in Burnaby, he was in the VMSL, and couldn't have won the Pak. He'd have had to play for Aldergrove, N.Delta, or Coq. Celtic.... he never played with us on the Celtic, and he's not old enough to have played before Aldergrove won it, so did he play for Alder. or N. Delta? ?

Limp away.... but the triple BEFORE the Bradner became the Presidents cup, refered to Valley teams winning the Pak, the Bradner and the Prov. ... it was what the Valley refered to as "the triple" ... no one gives a rats ass about what the VMSL does ...

Bingo. ;)

Except I'm not in my 40s.
Talk to me next year.

You played for Coq. Celtic?
You guys went to the BC final one year.
Best we did was semis and lost against Norvan. (I think - Fcuking Alzeimers)

Only other team I know of out of the Valley to go very far was SU who lost to Firemen in the final.

Oh shite.
Here comes Cainy...
