What he told me was no one told him squat till Dinner time tonight when he called the ref for the scores. Your coach should have called him right at the time of the no show to have an answer for all of your players on what was going to happen. Mabee he tried and Brian was refin another game. Many things may have happened. We have been in the Amalgamation Cup for 3 years now and we have had nothing but good times. I feel for you as no shows are very disrespectful. A complete waist of time and money.
Brian is a good guy so dont think he was letting anyone down. Im sure it was some other screw up that caused this.

My guess would be that Columbus lost their 1st cup game and figured they wouldn't be advancing, so they couldn't be bothered to drive all the way out to Surrey.

Speaking of which I sure am looking forward to driving out to Frost Road this Sunday for our 6pm game. It means I'll probably be home just in time for a 10pm dinner and a recording of the Sopranos finale.

Is there any parking on 164 st or should we be using the school parking lot (access from 162 st)?

Frost Road has lots of parking, in the school's parking lot, on 162nd or on the far side on 164th.

It's a great pitch, it was a GVSL staple for years.

Thanks KJ.

It was Westside Rino 2 - 0 Loons tonight, with yours truly between the pipes. We gave up a late PK that could have made the game really interesting except my awesome stare down skills made the guy boot it over. That still counts as a stopped pk though right? :D

Apparently the Loons forfeited their game against SFC Stars.... something about not enough guys willing to go out to Surrey for the game. Seems like a common theme. Hopefully we have more than 7 guys, and someone to play net other than myself on Sunday.

Hey ghouse, how did your teams do last night? And did you actually play at S. Memorial or is it still closed?

The Green Devils beat us in double overtime 4-3
What a game. They always have our number. Everytime we play them they squeek one out.
Our other team was hammered 5-0. Missing alot of key guys. No excuse,we are out.
Good luck to the rest of you all.

Double OT? Tough loss ... sorry to hear that ghouse, as I was looking forward to getting a matchup against you guys.

Westside Rino took out the Surrey FC Stars this evening to advance to the next round against presumably the Green Devils, unless the Commrades pull off a miracle on Friday. Hey ghouse, maybe you want to send them some ringers? ;)

GD is also through.
Unfortunately one of the Comrades broke his leg in an accident during the match.
Also looking for the new schedule and dates.

Two games were played on June 28:
Europa vs Bombastic - I heard Europa won
KMB vs Deep Cover Beavers

This Sunday is Westside Rino vs. Green Devils, 8pm at Confed Turf in N. Van.

Semis are supposed to take place between Aug 8-12...

Final is Sunday August 19th 4pm at Association Park in Ladner

Green Devils vs. Europa

I'm picking the GD's to take it and repeat as cup winners. Although with the refs all seeming to be best friends with Europa, you never know if they might change the game. ;)
