West Van (BC) flew out early this AM. For reference, the teams were seeded as follows:

1. Alberta
2. Quebec
3. PEI
4. BC
5. Ontario
6. Nova Scotia
7. Newfoundland
8. Manitoba
9. Saskatchewan
10. Yukon

Not sure how they came up with the seedings, but Group One appears to be the group of death. A team must win the group to go through.

And for Megs and all of you women's football fans out there, the women's seedings are as follows:

1. Nova Scotia 1
2. Ontario
3. BC
4. Newfoundland
5. Alberta
6. Manitoba
7. Saskatchewan
8. Nova Scotia 2

Sirem,

If you have a chance to watch Manitoba play, keep an eye out to see if the Human Burrito is back, last seen at NAP when Sapperton won the BCs. This kid was about 4'3" both tall and wide, and adhesive feet. The top of the ball came to just below his knee cap.

Helluva player, plus we need a new photo.

Well WV plays Manitoba on Thursday at 2PM. They have a plan for the Human Burrito: Eagles is going to eat the Burrito...with a side of guacamole.

Thank you Sirem. Fine reporting work, as always. Let us know if the Burrito bites back.

On a side note, I need to get me some lunch.

Seedings is quite simple, it is based on the previous year's placings.

It's always been this way.

Good luck to WV, SU & Columbus (Masters)!

The Su ladies have just arrived in "Toon "town! We play Manitoba thursday at 6pm for the first game. SU has Manitoba, saskatchewan and Ontario in their group. Of the two groups for the ladies I would say this is the harder pool. With 2 NS teams, NFLD and AB in the other pool. Mind you NS 1 is the reigning gold medalist. BTW the weather is chilly and raining here, well back home there is reports of people having to wear sunscreen today!

Staff advise very cold and windy in Sakatoon. Unfortunately key WV players Desmond and Milad came up unfit for selection before game time. WV are down 1-0 at the half despite taking it to Ontario all half, but cannot score, and when they did, it was called back by the officials. One half to go...

Final Score:

West Van FC (British Columbia) 2, Real Toronto (Ontario) 1.

West Van (Rob Giezen) scored to tie it with less than ten to go, and the official, apparently due to a lot of embellishing, histrionics and diving by the Ontario champs, added six plus minutes.

Jinky with the winner in the sixth minute of added time.

DCR20 is alive, barely.

Coach of the year may go out for a drink after this one.

Manitoba tomorrow.
