Just read this

Big teams await Euro draw
AC Milan are the defending champions
Manchester United and Arsenal will be among the eight top seeds in Thursday's draw for the Champions League group stage in Monaco.
Chelsea's victory over Slovakian side MSK Zilina means they will be one of the eight second-seeded sides in the draw in Monaco at 1500 BST.

Celtic and Rangers are likely to be in the third-seeded pot.

The seedings are decided by Uefa's club coefficients, which are based on a team's performance in Europe over five years and the displays of other sides from the same country in the same period.

Manchester United and Arsenal will avoid the other top seeds - holders AC Milan, Real Madrid, Deportivo La Coruna, Bayern Munich and Juventus - in the group stage.

Chelsea are among a strong set of second seeds that includes Inter Milan, Uefa Cup winners Porto and French side Lyon.

The finalised arrangements for the draw will not be made until a couple of hours before it takes place.

But it is likely to again be 32 clubs into eight groups of four, with each group having one top-seeded club, one second seed, a third seed and a fourth seed.

Uefa has decided to scrap the second group stage of the Champions League.

The top two in each group will go into a last 16 knockout with a side who finishes on top of a group paired with another runner-up.

The teams that finish third in a group will drop down into the Uefa Cup.

According to this from BBC sport, there is still a Uefa parachute.
Is this right.

The Draw

I like it...:)
Man Utd. will be a great battle of Champions for Rangers, but the Gers will have to get their results against the Germans / Greeks... They'll win two matches, it's just up to getting a HUGE away draw!!!:( Looking forward to this group, especially with the "Battle of Britain" and all of the hype that will no doubt go along with it!!!

Zenga still won't bet Rangers will win a game!!!

Good draw for Rangers - Could have been worse.

Other than the obvious one club, I'm cool with our group.
And the atmosphere will be great at Ibrox and Old Trafford.
We'll probably lose both matches but fcuk man, it's Man U and this type of opportunity doesn't come along often.
Sir Alex against his best player at Aberdeen at the other end in younger Alex.
That alone is cool and I bet both gaffers are excited.

Keeps:
What's the word on Stuttgart?
I really don't know much about them.

The Greeks will be tough too as nothing comes easy at this stage.

I think Celtic has a great chance to advance if they can get a result against Bayern.

Doesn't seem to be one overly tough group nor one real easy group.

Cheerio,
RF

Already in the winning.

Celtic fans 'Europe's best'

Celtic fans created a great atmosphere in Seville
Celtic's fans have been named the best in Europe by Uefa.
The Scottish outfit's supporters received the 2003 Uefa Fair Play Award on Wednesday for their behaviour during the club's run to the Uefa Cup final last season.

European football's governing body paid tribute to the 80,000 fans that had travelled to Seville to help create a fiesta atmosphere in the Spanish city.

Celtic Supporters Association general secretary Eddie Toner said: "The Fair Play Award is a fantastic tribute to the Celtic supporters who represented the club in Europe so magnificently last season.

"Celtic supporters have travelled in large numbers throughout Europe over many years and they have rightly earned an excellent reputation during this time.

Celtic's Uefa Cup challenge will be remembered and treasured for years to come

Celtic chairman Brian Quinn
"The Fair Play Award is further recognition of the Celtic supporters' high standing in Europe and an honour which is well deserved."

Celtic chairman Brian Quinn added: "The backing the team received from supporters throughout our entire Uefa Cup run both home and away was overwhelming and the supporters' behaviour was a credit to the club.

"Despite the disappointment in Seville, Celtic's Uefa Cup challenge and the crucial role which the supporters played in this effort will be remembered and treasured for years to come."

Celtic season ticket holders John Byrne and John Gallagher accepted the award at the annual Uefa Football Gala in Monte Carlo.

Uefa also confirmed that it is to present a special plaque to the club's fans at Celtic Park before a match in September.

Rangers to take the award this year.

No chance. Bucky is more tame than the majority of the Huns in Scotland and we know that can't bode well for this award.

Guinness,

Please don't over-dramatize(I have no idea if this is a word and don't care) about Man. U/Rangers being a HUGE battle. The only thing they have in common is that they will have 11 players on the field. I guess they both sing God Save The Queen before their games and hang union jacks to show their 'loyalty' to England. I thought they hated the English. Anyway, Man. United will toy with the Huns and don't look past the Greek champions. Greek teams have done very well over the last few years. You shouldn't have a problem with Stuttgart because Celtic stuffed them last year. I predict one win for Rangers at home, 1 draw, and 4 losses. Thanks for coming out.

Celtic on the other hand have a decent draw. The Belgian teams have not done well in the Champions League as of late and the French teams have struggled for the most part too. Of course, the square heeds will be a major obstacle. I predict Celtic will go through with a record of 3 wins 2 losses and a tie.
