Well tonight the Whitecaps can, with a win, secure at minimum a draw at the top of the table with TFC for this tourney.

Currently the standings are:
TFC with 6 points, 2-0-0
Whitecaps FC with 6 points, 2-0-1
L'Impact with 0 points, 0-0-2

If the Caps can knock off TFC tonite TFC will have to beat Montreal in Montreal, and overcome the goal differential to go past WFC for the Nutrilite Championship/Voyageurs Cup.

Vancouver is 3 goals for, 1 against.
TFC is 2 goals for, 0 against.

If the are tied if the Caps win tonight and TFC wins in Montreal, the following is applied:
The champion will be determined by:
1. Most points in all group matches
2. Greater # of points in matches between the teams concerned
3. Greater goal difference in matches between the teams concerned (if more than two teams finish equal on points)
4. Greater # of goals scored in matches among the teams concerned (if more than two teams finish equal on points)
5. Results from all group matches
a) greater goal difference in all group matches
b) greater # of goals scored in all group matches
6. Drawing of lots

Both teams are not playing very well as of late, but the atmosphere at Swangard should be great tonight, especially with awesome weather.

Toronto cannot afford to drop more points at this point of the season, and have just lost 3-0 to Houston, and have LA up next on Saturday... That being said the Caps are without Nash, who is suspended for having 2 yellows :( TFC may dress a weaker lineup for tonights game, and thus I'll predict a 2-1 Whitecaps FC win.

TOURE, TOURE - It was funny seeing the TFC fans who were talking shite during the game, cowering around the cops after the game. Burn of the night - the two dbags who took off their TFC jerseys, started flossing their asses with them, and yelled "use a tampon" then started high fiving right before our second goal. Brilliant!!

Nice win by the Caps. Minus a complete collapse by the Impact we'll take this thing.

I caught most of the second half and to be fair, the Whitecaps looked very good. Their possession was very good......they had some pace out wide, had a striker who could hold the ball very well..and they attacked out of the back at times. Overall, decent to watch. :)

It was an awesome last 35 minutes of the game as I was stuck on Skytrian enroute for over an hour FFS!

anyways...

Didn't miss Nash by the look of things, and the pace on the wings and out of the back was something the TFC players looked unready for.

TFC Needs to beat Montreal by at least a 4 goal margin to just get into the "Drawing of lots" 5 if they want to advance free and clear.

The Caps have done all they can, aside from Beating TFC the first time, now they need L'Impact to not mess the bed and lose by more than 4.

Johnny if they win by four won't TFC go thru since:

5. Results from all group matches
a) greater goal difference in all group matches
b) greater # of goals scored in all group matches

They will be tied on +4 both if they win by four but TFC will have 6 for and the caps 5. Anyways go Impact and hopefully they start Sutton against his former team since he is crap.

The big guy up front (98?) was easily their best player last night. Looked dangerous everytime he got the ball
TO was unlucky not to be up 2-1 at half, after the caps game up two breaks in a three minute span.
Chin filled in well for the missing Nash...but, man he looks tiny out there.

Overall, I enjoyed the game and the quality of soccer.

The stands were packed too.

Ageed with everything posted so far.

Caught the second half and was impressed with the way the Caps played/attempted to play.

Great strike on the second goal that was only outdone by Toure's first touch before hitting it.

Question: if Vancouver somehow manages to make it as far as Montreal did, where will they play?
