Ageed with everything posted so far.

Caught the second half and was impressed with the way the Caps played/attempted to play.

Great strike on the second goal that was only outdone by Toure's first touch before hitting it.

Question: if Vancouver somehow manages to make it as far as Montreal did, where will they play?

Commonwealth Stadium?

Charles Gbeke is the big man #98.

What is funny with last night was the Caps were missing a whole slew of good players, which is why Chin got a run out.

Marlon James would have started up front instead of either Gbeke or Haber had he been fit
They were also missing:
Martin Nash
Geordie Lyall
Vicente Arze
Justin Moose

The Midfield was Young/Inexperienced with Chin playing 90 and Gage(just turned 18) and Trafford (22) splitting the 90 in the CMF roles.

Also could have seen Randy Edwini-Bonsu feature if he wasn't busy destroying german sides over there with the res kids team.

Regs,

If they get as far as Montreal did I wouldn't be surprised to see the local sports media going with it and seeing BC Place as a venue... They could curtain off the top like they did for the Lions and sell 30k...
just a thought.

The WFC Brass would never allow the games to played in Edmonton... No way, no how.

It would be BC Place, or swangard, or bust.

Sure, it is now in some state of perpetual construction.

The Quarter Finals last time were held in February of this year, so around the Olympics, so that will be a tough ask ;) But that means the Caps have to progress past the Group stages, which is possible. I don't know if the Caps avoid the preliminary rounds and go straight into the Group stages because of Montreal's success last year or not. Will have to look into that.

I would imagine that The Caps could work something out with the City of Burnaby to accomodate a setup like what happened for the U-20 World championships to grow the capacity.

Great game last night could have been more if Charles Gbeke the big man #98 didn't have wheels like Tony "Hector".

The "Wheels" guys are:
Marlon James (Hurt)
Randy Edmini-Bonsu (with res program in germany at the moment)
Dever Orgill (Might have been considered too young/small to play against the likes of Serioux and Company)

I thought it went well last night, the Caps didn't need that speedy striker, they had two big men (And Haber isn't slow by any means either, just not as fast as Wynne) that held the ball up well, and provided to the streaking midfielders.

Gbeke and Haber used their physical stature and strength to dominate, at times, the TFC Backline.

If they dont have the field to support the game/rules, they should have to play their home games at the opponents home turf.
Isnt that how they won last year?

Apples and Oranges mate.

The "League" as mickey-mouse as they are... said that Puerto Rico's stadium wasn't up to snuff, we all really knew that it was a money issue with Fox Sports World, who was contractually bound to broadcast the game, didn't want to spend all the cash to pick up and move to do the broadcast from Puerto Rico, since they are a big part of the USL the USL budged.

This is the CONCACAF Champions League.

The stadium being sized is apparently not an issue for CONCACAF as Joe Public FC plays at a park of 6000 capacity, and thier owner is Jack Warner (VP of FIFA)

We are talking about a move for the Whitecaps to simply have an avenue to capitalize on potential momentum with additional gate revenues, not having to move because of a mandate on minimum stadium criteria for the competition.

Draws for the CONCACAF Champions League were done today.

Prelim Matchup for Canada (Vancouver/Toronto) is Puerto Rico

Winner of that match is put into Group C that includes Columbus Crew (USA), Saprissa (Costa Rica), and the winner of Cruz Azul (Mexico) vs Herediano (Costa Rica).

Yup, old foe for the prelim matchup, what is funny is that we are schedule to play them the week before this match is to happen.

This is also definitely one of the potential groups of death if you look at the rest of the groups.
