Of course TSN / Westhead broke this, but anyways another shitestorm kicking up again on twatter.

National teams will have no games in the Sept and Oct International windows because they don't have the money for it.

So what you're saying is no one else in Canadian sports media cared enough about soccer to interview DeVos for an update on how things are going since he took over?

Ah yes, hypothetical bankruptcy.

And if finances are not the issue, then why no friendlies in Sept/Oct windows? Because the globe article does not give any real reason other than "upheaval"

my understanding is when this country has an issue Trudeau can just print billions of dollars in money. Hand them 50mill JT and let’s win some football matches. Problem solved.

This is all not going to end well for anyone.

CSA we have known for years has significant issues.

The "players" really are not helping things at all and could very well have followers turn on them quickly. Do they have any solutions/proposals? I mean, really, don't want your photos or names used when repping the country, don't rep the country.

It's disappointing; if they really wanted to put the boots to the CSA they could have by demanding that the money be spent not on them, but on true (i.e. lower than the CPL) grassroots development. They'd have been on the side of angels. They could even have made a proposal silos off some of the money for training, expense reimbursement, and more comfortable travel - no one would begrudge them that, I don't think.

Instead, both teams are really starting to come off as entitled, spoiled brats. If they want to stand on ceremony, I think it's fair to point out that neither team is remotely close to hoisting a World Cup trophy...

Except Canada Soccer doesn't run grassroots anything. The PSOs do, and fcuk me if I want BC soccer wasting any more money.
easily fixed - take the approach the feds love; here's some money as long as you use it to do x,y, and z...

Isn't CPL / CSB plowing money into grassroots via League Uno initiatives across the country?
