Div 3 [FVSL Div 3] Results and Banter - Oct. 2006

That is a load of rubbish playing friendlies!! Keep an eye on #9 up front for Poco.Big kid with some speed and skill.Acouple of midfielders that can play as well.Otherwise,defensively they are not very organized.We wouldn't mind meeting you Abby boys after lastyearsdisgraceofshowing up with 9 guys on thanksgiving weekend.

I now realize we'll be first place now, yippee It sucks getting it by the fact that Abby hasn't had a game (sorta) in 2 weeks. By the looks of it now the group should be decided by our head-to-heads.
On another note, how are the Guildford Coaches guitarman or rev? We have them first round of cup.

Hey Stallion,

The Coaches played ok for the first half but their best player took a dumb red for kicking the ball in the air after a yellow......nice red card for that .We have a problem of not getting into the game until late as the 2nd half we just passed the hell out of them and hence the final 8-1 score. You will need to pass against these guys as they are not that bad but they got tired and our speed and passing wore them down.....also their keep is a little suspect on long balls.......you will need to get up a few on them or they will be right in the game.....I think GEU was probably letting that game go just to keep their point total down for promotion reasons.....those crazy guys......I wonder what forum Franchise is ruining with his heroin laced thoughtforms....?

I'll have to remember that about the Coaches. It was kinda funny, at first GEU started whining about how they're losing to a team from Whalley, then when they realized they had no shot at beating us, it was on to "oh, while you guys were training, we were drinking" blah blah blah. They were shite, had like 2 or 3 good players and a bunch of hacks. It's clearly been a long time since Franchise watched D3 if he thinks that is what the most talented team looks like.

Hey Stallion, tell GEU if you get beat you take it and congrats to the other team......like your team never drank on Sat night before the game ..............your right Div 3 is not the outkast league it once was.......also Rob J i couldnt agree with you more on your take.......i had a similar thing happen to us a few years back when we were down 8-0 and the guys were going apeshit after their 8th goal......in frustration to their gloating i totally booted a guy in the midsection after he beat me ....not very sportsmanlike but teams that gloat like that had better watch out as when you are getting kicked your anger comes out in not the most predictable ways...one guy on the Coaches made a comment on us racking up the score but we did not gloat after our goals...or shine our shoes.....also our subs were all on for last 20 min of the game......hell i wanted a goal ....

I think it would be really hard not to take a red if a players celebrate a goal by polishing shoes not matter what the score. Whats with using the hungover excuse for playing poorly. I thought you were supposed to play hungover. Maybe that is my problem.

Hey guitarman, there is a big difference between wanting to score a goal and doing it. Take it from me goals are a pipe dream for defenders like us. I count a goal for every ankle i hack.

When are we going to get a chance to beat you guys again. It seems like good games are going to be few and far between this year. Hopefully we will meet in the cup.

What happened to Totti and Raul? They did lots of talking before the season about letting their play do the talking while I predicted wins. It seems as though a shoddy 8th place standing coupled with my horrible U-21 team still being undefeated has caused them to lose the ability to post

Hey Storm, how were Tswassen in the friendly you played? The rowdies this weekend for ya shouldn't be too much trouble, watched a couple of their games. Not too much talent, but they work very hard and never quit, so you have to put them away early because they battle to the end.

I am a loyal player win or lose, and even though I disagree with what my team mates did I will see this season through with them. I am not a quitter I just wanted the rest of the div 3 boys to know how I felt and especially the Poco boys.

Let me know if you have open tryouts next year . I don't care if I am a starting goalie or the back up I just enjoy playing.

We play the miners and I know we will be in for a tuff game as they always have a decent squad out on the field. Hopefully I will be on my game.

I agree with the loyalty thing, through thick and thin for sure. Our keeper actually showed up for GEU, hence the win. Against the miners, play hard and keep your mouth shut and they'll whine themselves off the field. We should be fine for keepers once our backup comes back from Costa Rica, but competition is always good, will let you know about next year.

Probably our worst game of the year. They were short players and we just couldn't do anything right. Definitely not the way we want to be playing with Abby coming up in 2 weeks.

Played the Miners today. 2-2 was the final. My fault on the first goal. The ref awarded them a penalty with 8 minutes left in the game. Our d tried to clear the ball it hit one of our player on the arm. Two things he was just outside the 18 and second his back was against the play so there is no way it was intentional.

They scored we came back with 3 minutes left and almost went ahead to win but got unlucky. I forgot to mention we were a man down. Stallion you were right they were not as good as last years team that is for sure.

With the Miners putting on poor performances in the last few weeks it seems that we are the teams to beat thus far. Can't wait to see who takes the early lead. Should be a great game.

I can't wait either, finally a close game that should actually be a close game, and seeing as my teamates are getting geared up for it already it should be very intense.
