Please don't forget the SURDEL and SURREY FC U13 (Girls) Metro teams - both are expected to be very competitive!

=Kool_Beans;336966]Surrey United ,Central City and Semi have already ran their Metro Tryouts for that age group. She may have to contact the TDs for those clubs and ask for a special tryout as they have already picked their squads.[/QUOTE]

Thanks everyone, But do all these clubs have metro teams, or is it still to be decided, As one of my friend says that is too many teams from one District for U13,

Surrey youth and Surdel are close to me.

I know that SU, Central City and Semi do for sure, not sure about Surdel and Surrey Youth but if she is interested in playing BCPL next year she might want to align herself with a club that has a franchise.

First game of the season for U13 boys 11am on North Burnaby High School Turf. Fell and Hasting st. Come and see how the gold silver and metro kids from last year will do.
CMF is the team these boys are playing against. The more people come out to watch this the better.

This is SYL or HPL to be. Burnaby Norh Shore smoked kids from CMF area. Four or five one. Favro by far the best player on the pitch.
I am not sure how Caps missed this youngster total payer in all parts of the game. I am sure Craig will spot him.

Mountain and Coquitlam u13 SYL boys have not played a league game against each other as per post above with links provided.

Either it was an exhibition game or you were watching something else. If national anthems and other "starting line-up" announcements were not made, it was not a league game.

HPl is affecting silver levels. Clubs are losing silver teams due to the fact not enough kids. Gold sides are taking better players from silver one. Before it was one or two kids now six seven kids. It kills teams in silver one. It might take a year or two before lower level teams move up the chain. Last I hear in lower mainland six seven teams are no longer. Sad but net result of better development move.
But at same time few kids will move oround from club to club. We will see what happens. Must say some HPL games are fun to watch. Over all better level than Select soccer.

Grate game today in SYL. Burnaby North Shore vs Thompson Okenagen boys U16. Bunaby wins 2 to zero to stay in hont for top two spots. Must say Tony has done a good job with his side. Team plays with tonns of pace. Burnaby keeper made an outstanding save late in the game. # 8 from Thopson Okenagen was by far the most silled lad on the pitch. Very smart on the ball. All of you come out and watch next Saturday and Sunday. BLW field four. one and three pm on Saturday and Sunday.

New season is just four weeks away in youth program. Most clubs are trying hard to form all the teams. It is no joke how much HPL has efected silver soccer. There is coaches trying to register players that are on other clubs just to have 11 in orther to have a roster. Some coaches are running from club to club like bitches in heat. Some day this all will slow down. Mega clubs will not result in better development. Mega development centre and better coaching would.
It remains to be seen the type of product we will have when the season starts. One can only think bit lower than before.
All jokes a side kids in HPL will be way better off. Playing games against tough teams will result in better development. Lats of club folks are negative about HPL. All I say just come out and watch. You will change your mind even though most coaches in HPL are still teaching kick and run.

Base,
It sounds like you have a strong sense of what is going on with youth soccer. I suggest if we want to foster development then get
rid of the national championships. This is one reason why coaches are forced to strive to win. We would still have a provincial championship without breaking the bank for travel to places like PEI in October. HPL may be good for the elite, but as you have shown in your post it is really affecting the other groups. Note the numbers of players on the girls side has gone down this year. (this is a WNT world cup year to boot!)....pardon the pun.
BCHPL or HPL or whatever they call it this month.... maybe a good idea with poor implementation. Too late for going back. Hopefully it takes off. January will be an interesting time. We'll see an exodus of players into or out of the HPL.
;)

Here's how it will affect Gold/Silver. According to bcsoccercentral.com :

Gold/Silver and Bronze/Red will merge and each become one league
This league will be named "5 District"
Gold, Silver, Bronze and Red names will be eliminated and be re-named Division 1,2,3….
Each Division will have as many units (Division 1A, 1B, 1C….) as necessary to accommodate the number of teams
Each team will play league games until the Christmas break (no Conference Cup)
After the Thanksgiving break the board may re-align some teams if necessary (if one or two teams are very strong or weak)
After the Christmas break all teams will be placed into competitive divisions and play "League Cup"
Division 1 teams (and any Division 2, 3.. teams that want to) will play in both "District Cup" and "League Cup" (priority given to District Cup)
League Cup will have a round robin format and finals
Gold/Silver and Bronze/Red will merge their guidelines (this will be done through-out the first year)
Each District will have two reps
Division 1 will have a August 1st deadline for submitting teams and Division 2,3… will have the Friday before Labour day deadline
Dision 1 will start their season 2nd weekend in Sept. and Division 2,3… will start the 3rd week of Sept.

What do these changes to gold-silver-bronze have to do with HPL? You know, other than being long overdue and making perfect sense? Keep in mind, Division 1 (nee, Gold) is now THIRD tier, below HPL>Metro-Select.

This really will only somewhat affect the u12 Division as they aren't yet at the MSL/HPL level.

Nice to see that if a team is getting shellacked every week they'll be dropped a division (and dominant teams moved-up stopping at Div 1). Also nice to see they won't be forcing lower-level teams to play District Cup if they do not desire. It always seemed a huge waste to have a top Gold team playing a bottom-level silver team (every year you see scores of 10-0!).

keep in mind this relates to 5 district only, as distinct from the Burnaby-North Shore-Vancouver-Richmond 4 district...
