WTF?

Let's just say, it is too bad that CCU had to resort to slide tackling when they have speed, skill and youth on their side

Resort? What the fcuk? Did they kick the ball over your heads too so you couldn't touch it?

Girls

I think.

I heard that Alumni played well and that Bby were in a stupor.

My ears were sharp as Mr Spock's and I even remember hearing that Sandy scored a beauty. I didn't catch the other scorer.

Guinness...

This is a quote from my post dated Sept. 27, 2001

I'm hearing a rumour that the 'ol Cliff Ave girls (Surrey FC) are on fire. I guess it is all the clinic coaching from a pro player that helps here. Let's take note, look for the new team to be the next BC champs. Now, let's hope that the Breakers training and games don't get in the way again!

Now, I haven't been too into the league play lately, but if all goes well, YES we can look for some new BC champs;)

Metro Ford vs. Westside

After driving to 3 different fields to find one they could play on, the originally scheduled 10:00am game became a 12:00pm game.

Apparently the league didn't bother to check the fields and Mackin was a mud pit so they went to Millar park, then to Parkland. Apparently Parkland was supposed to be closed but it was in fine shape when we got there.
From what I hear Westside had a field somewhere else but the league wouldn't change the game so they stayed with Mackin.

Nice choice.

Game results:
Westside got a little scare when down 2-1 with 3 minutes left but they tied it up to go into overtime. 10 minutes into OT they potted the golden goal.

Good effort by Metro Ford to give them a run.

Until next season.

it's a shame...

Too Bad Westside actually found a field to play on in Vancouver (By Thursday), but, I hate to say "they told you so"

From Westside's perspective, yes a scare, but a shite game on their part (so SC's best friend said)

Next year? - Let's just hope things do get tighter then:eek:

battle of the unfit (or fit?)

An interesting result today out at the ol' UBC pitch...

Originally quoted by SC two weeks ago...
I know for a fact that my boxing mate T-bone is totally pumped to control the midfield (for the Canucks of course)

As a result, T-bone with the game winner and one to match

Alumni (a.k.a.national team & Breakers) 0 Canucks 3

Are we going to see a repeat?

You Go Girls

Nice result for a team that I had heard had some problems this year.
Congrats to Danny and company, I hope the girls can repeat, there is a great core on that team.

How is Amy doing, I heard she had a cracker in the game on Sun.

Best head in the Co-Ed league you know:eek:

Best head in CO-ED, that's for sure!

"All the Way" is ready to go "all the way" H.O.S.~

"ATWA" doesn't have the best head in MWSL though. I think Andrea had the best head yesterday, outjumping T-Bone and company all over the pitch!

Westside results anyone? Max B , how did sister Max B do?

Guinney, what about the Slurrey results?

First friendly result of the season

Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2002 @ Todd Field

Burnaby Canadians recovered from 0-2 halftime deficit to beat Langara College 5-2. Canadians had only three players on the field from last season's Provincial winning side (Poole, Knight, Dunn). Others were young players looking to be selected to either the A or B side for this season.

Robyn Knight scored one. Jenna Mosher has 2. Caleigh Goodheart, Karla Kuellar added singletons.

Paige Pratt made her debut with the Canadians.

Langara

How did Langara look? Who slotted their goals?
Langara looked OK. They took a lead in large part due to some blunders by the Canadians keeper. First half play was probably even. In the second half, either Burnaby woke up or Langara ran out of steam, or a combination of both, but Burnaby really dominated.
However, given the relatively low caliber of play in the college game locally, Langara should be able to compete for a BC spot, although I would say Cap and Cariboo remain the strong favourites, as usual.
