SC~

So far, yes You are the only one confused. I have posted my scores from my practise rounds. No, I was not playing by myself. Mrs. KNVB took the throttling of a life time tonight and to spare her feelings and my marriage I thought it best to only post my results.

If you or any others were ever thinking of trying out for the D.C.S I suggest you print or jot down these numbers and see if you can match or beat them. Remember I am ranked 3rd in a 12 man roster if you can stay close you may have a shot.

Next Wednesday I shall bring a pad and paper as to keep track of the Sidewinders scores just so everyone will see both ends of the spectrum......;)

Hurricane is laughing at your approach to practicing. He claims that he has been sick the last few matches and will gladly thump you, especially after witnessing your training methods.

Anyway, time will tell. I am currently showing Hurricane how to use the photo option and he wanted me to leave this with you.

I should think Her-icane could have told me himself. Did he not sign up for TTP? Was he sick when I soundly thrashed him at the Sundowner? If not I suppose he could have used the "road weary" excuse. One of many I think he has stolen from the Total No show.

4-1 life time vs. our beloved #2. I'm only hoping he can get a day pass from the Mrs. next Wednesday so he can put this great plan of "thumping me" into action.......

Double-in. You play a dangerous game here with Her-icane.
His training regimen includes his beloved Yoko, but he does not play against her.
After several ****tails, he blindfolds her and has her stand sideways with the tip of her nose, on the board, adjacent to his target number.
The man is ruthless (a twat as mentioned earlier).
While we engage in computer dialogue he is playing, playing, playing.
I have witnessed this myself, although however briefly, through his rec room window, when after an evening out I ventured to his place in search of liquor.
Unless your wife is prepared to make these sacrifices,(or just get drunk enough), and carry the blindfold theme up to your bedroom, I don't think you can match the blackness of his soul and meet this challenge.
I like to believe that our goodness should defeat this evil, but you see what it is doing to the eX.

I do not believe that ****tails, as in alcoholic beverage, was actually censored.
TB - does this also apply to my pet ****atiel and ****er spaniel?
How about the ****roaches in my kitchen and my feeling that I was **** of the walk after beating d-cup and her nasty boyfriend at pool?
If so, this is a ****amamee system.

Poor little Hurricane. Could you please tell Timmy that whenever he's ready to play again I shall be waiting. I know it must be hard for the lad to practise while living in a bubble 24-7, but with modern medicine we could only hope he snaps out of it soon.

El Nino~

There is no I in team.
I was **** of the walk after beating d-cup and her nasty boyfriend at pool?
Remember it takes two to play doubles...... ;)

Practise makes perfect

You need to establish some guidelines to maximize the benefits of practise and to keep yourself interested enough to keep at it.

If you were to just start throwing at the board without a gameplan there would be no focus or concentration. You need to have goals to work towards, both short and long term.

These goals can be entirely related to your practise as you learn to measure yourself against the board. This will help you greatly when you are in a real match against a tough opponent and the old darts cliche comes into effect: play the board, not your opponent.

There are three key points when developing your practise regime:

- Avoid distractions
- Blueprint your routine
- Calculate your averages

Avoid distractions:

This seems obvious, but it might be the most difficult aspect of your practise session.

Once you have an idea of how long you wish to practise, you then must decide when to practise. Some people have more options than others, but the goal should be to pick a time when you are least likely to be called away, or a time when you can turn your telephone off.

Let the people around you know that you do not wish to be disturbed(for what it's worth). Play some music that you enjoy in order to mask any other sounds that might otherwise distract you, such as children or noisy neighbours.

Don't start practising if something else needs to be done that will preoccupy your thoughts. A half hour of dedicated practise is far more effective than a hours worth of distracted throwing.

Blueprint your routine

Once you decide how long your routine is going to last you then need to structure it. This structure should be based on the minimum amount of time you are likely to have to practise. This way you will repeat the same routine every time you practise, which is very helpful in determining if you are improving or not.

If you find yourself with extra time in a given session you can repeat the session or just do some supplementary drills(see future articles).

The first part of your routine should be a warm-up drill. You will want to loosen your arm, align your mechanics, and gain your focus.

The first thing to do is to go around the board on the big single segments (from 1 to 20), then the small single segments (between the treble and the bull) and then the 25 segment.

By then your arm will be nice and loose and you can move on to the doubles, the bull, and finally the trebles.

After hitting all those doubles and trebles you're ready to test yourself seriously.

The second and main portion of the routine should challenge your limits. This will maintain your interest in practising. I try to simulate potential match conditions. For instance, if my next competition is double-in 501, that is what I play. If the format is best of 3 or 5 legs per set, that is what I play.

I play against an imaginary opponent who is very consistent (30 points per dart). If I have the start I know I have 18 darts in which to win the leg, or I lose. Against the throw I have only 15 darts.

You can tailor these numbers to your skill level, but if you are winning more than you are losing you should make it more difficult.

A good method of simulating throwing for the bull is to designate a 50 as a win, a 25 as a tie, and anything else as a loss.

Calculate your averages

The only way to rate your performance is to chart your progress. I always use pen and paper to keep my scores while practising.

If you play 20 legs of 501, multiply 501 x 20 and then subtract any remaining scores. Then add up how many darts you threw and divide it into your point total. This will give you your points per dart (p.p.d) average.

Divide the number of games you won by the total you played and multiply by 100. This will give you your win percentage.

For practise purposes the p.p.d. average is more important than the win percentage, but they are both good measuring sticks. At the end of your session enter the date and your averages into a practise log. If your average does not gradually increase you will be alerted that there is a problem. In most cases, I think you will be very pleased with the results.

Yes, but you are following the practice routine of the number SEVEN ranked player in the world. Just because he is Canadian, doesn't mean that he has all the answers. ;)

I assume you got that from "Part's Darts"? If not, it is exactly what he has posted on the Planetdarts website.

Too much practice for me. I will always be an average player.....

Cut and Paste

So you've read it before? Some good ideas and some good guidelines to run with.

Number SEVEN in the WORLD is better than #3 in the D.C.S......

True, but not quite as prestigious as the D.C.S. number 1 ranking. ;)

As I said, I think there will be a new number one by next Sunday.

Wonderful bullshit from Double In.
Grip it and rip it I say!
Double In, I in no way wanted to diminish your roll in our thrashing of double d and her trained dog at the pool table.
I was just playing with the censorship thingie.
I know one thing for sure. If we play eX and Sidewinder a combined tournnament of Cricket and pool, we will kick their sorry butts.
You are indeed a multi-sport athlete.

BTW - plagiarism is a bad thing. Forget all the crap you have just read and look to the dark side. Your wife must be blindfolded and naked to learn this game.
