I'd call it a mugging!

Well done to the MIME coaching staff. :D Did anyone capture the circus crew on film?

My fav part today was hearing the sweeper yell out "that's right girls, that's sexy football". I can't imagine where in the world they picked that up from :)

Good stuff Cappy, was there actually another team on the field today?

thats right the Posse was in full effect today with the miime attire, SC I wasnt sure if there was another team on the pitch today as the SDSS crew pretty much had a training session at Association today.

5-1 was almost a generous result to the apponents as we had a few n=more chances to put away.

The posse had an interview today - looking forward to that result.

Semi plays the "LUMP" system, it is a pretty to watch as it is to watch OD in his seventies apparel. Thanks for coming out Fuzzy!

The lump was awful but we handled it perfectful, A full effort from all of oue girls - First FVC for soccer in the history of the school. Congrats.

Peace DITH

Yes, it was a HUMP-ING...........We were up by 4 - 1 at the half. Our striker scored a hat-trick before she went to her provincial practice.......What a cracker of a player. We were very good today and we played VERY SEXY FOOTBALL. We might not win the provincials but we are going to play SEXY FOOTBALL..................

Who were the three masked men in black with white gloves?
Congrats Captain. It could have been more than 5-1.

Whoever said The Captain was rubbish with birds was clearly very, very wrong.

Even if it is 'only' Fraser Vally birds thus far....

Well played, Burnsie.

Argyle 1 South Delta 0

Argyle scored in the first minute on a defensive mishap and played solid with the lead. SD had a couple of chances, but Argyle played really well. Unlucky for SD not to go forward, but they put up a good effort.

Can't say enough good things about the girls this weekend. Played their arses off and if not for one bad minute and some unlucky bounces could have been walking away with a blue banner to go with the white one. Took the piss out of Mount Douglas today only to have the ref call a phantom pk which was well taken and have the far assistant get caught looking at his shoes when their striker was a solid two yards offside. We won in penalties 3-0 with our keeper stopping two and one wide and our girls being clinical in their finish. Special thanks to the Tornado Joes liquor store for making us miss most of the final. Bastards. Argyle ended up winning 2-0 over Oak Bay. Their first goal was apparently scored off a blatant non-call and after that they carried the play but couldn't finish. VERY well run tourney, makes last years tournament look like the DCS - Shoc-king. Only black mark was Hollywood being the ref co-ordinator and having him get his geriatric crew of friends be officials. They are better suited for the 0-73 league. DITH, if it happens two years in a row it's tradition - better watch out in Courtenay next year.

Thanks OD, will be on my game next year to be able to follow on with the newest tradition - DITH being tossed from a provincial match, this time in the tenth minute.

Today was one to be very proud of as we played our arses off for the entire tourney and as OD said we were only a pinch away from bringing home a banner.

The Posse were able to carry on a strong tradition of being absolute idiots of our selves and were recognized by the tourney diretors as three people whom need no introduction at the banquet.

Burnsey, Sween, Was a treat boys and cant wait until season number eight next year, peace out

DITH.

Where do I start? It WAS a fantastic few days for South Delta at the provincials. The first day started with the ever popular stop at the casino on the way up. Boop. A $125 profit.....We shifted rooms 4 times before getting room 809 at the Rhombus HOtel, which ended up being quality......On to the soccer.....

In the first game, we played a tough Kitsilano team, who outworked us in the first half but it was still tied. We went up 2 - 1 deservedly in the second half as we seemed to get the rust out and started playing a bit of sexy football. They scored their first goal on ANOTHER fcuking rubbish call which led to a penalty. We managed the winner with about 8 minutes to go and definitely deserved the W. The second game was against an exceptionally average Spectrum squad. Somehow though, we only won 3 - 2, as we had another couple of lapses, which led to us being punished. We hadn't played as well as we would have liked but were 2 - 0 heading into the Kelowna game. They beat Kits and Spectrum 2 - 0 in both games, so they had the advantage in the goal difference, which meant they would go through with a tie. They through everything at us in the first but we held up. We had several chances too so a pretty even first half ended up 0 - 0. We then got the only break we seemed to get in all the games, when the linesman made a shoc-king call, saying the ball went over the line in a scramble. Their players didn't argue at all, but from where I was, it looked like it was on the line. Our grade 10 phenom then scored 5 minutes later to make it 2 - 0 on a great individual effort. She ended up with 6 goals in the tournament. A cracker of a player. We then shut down everything Kelowna threw at us, which gave us a match-up against 2 time defending champions from Argyle.

The game didn't start like we hoped or expected as we did have a MAJOR breakdown on the left side of our defense leading to their only goal. They had a couple of chances before the half, while we mustered two decent chances too. The second half was definitely in our favour but we didn't get a break that we dearly needed. The last 20 minutes was spent in their half, as Argyle looked tired and were just content to hump the ball up the back and defend like shite. They did but our phenom had two great chances. The ref didn't help much, especially in terms of allowing flow to the game. He was shoc-king. Wasting time talking to his linesman, making the girls come off at center when there was NO FCUKING 4th official. Way too many things to list. I certainly would not blame him for the loss BUT I will blame him for hurting the flow of the game, especially when we were pressing over the last 20 minutes. Their coaches were pricks to when they were pulling ever cheating move possible to delay things. Nice class, putzes, if you're reading this. So we ended up playing Mount Douglas in the 3rd and 4th place game today.

Our girls were FANTASTIC. Once again we had a PHANTOM penalty called against us but we kept playing sexy football. Mount Doug looked tired as they were relying on the ever popular long ball up to their fast forward. We scored right on the stroke of half-time, as our phenom netted her 6th goal of the tourney. The second half saw us pin them in their own end and we scored another goal with about 20 minutes to go. Then the most blatant offside miss, quite possibly in the history of the game, took place. The ball was bouncing around the center circle when one of their midfielders got to and lumped the ball up the field. I was RIGHT in line with the play and saw that the girl was AT LEAST 2 yards offside. Of course you look to the linesman on the other side of the field to see his flag go up. Didn't happen. He was looking down at his shoes and was completely wrong with the miss. Our girls kept coming at them but missed several great chances, which meant OT. Again, we had two fantastic chances to bury them in OT but didn't. Then it was penalties and we stuffed them. End of story. 3rd place in B.C. isn't bad for our school of mediocrity. 2nd, 7th, and 3rd over the last 3 years isn't too bad.

However, the most touching thing was before and after the game. Before the game, the girls called us into their huddle and dedicated that game to us. Brought a few tears to the eyes which was a prelude to the post game water works. Perhaps One Dart or DITH could quote her because the Rockaberry's are killing my memory right now.......

After the game, another huddle took place with the girls first doing a magic team 'dance' to a song that I'm obviously too old to know. The tears were pumping out me like the shits had all weekend, thanks to Canada Cooler(Rockaberry/Orange), pina coladas, and of course the fish bowl paralyzers at Fogg and Sudds. In goes the next CD, which produced OUR team song, You'll Never Walk Alone. We stood in our huddle and ALL sang along with the CD. The parents were in tears by this point because they knew this has been a special group of kids over the last 3 years. Then it was hug time for everyone - parents, coaches, players.....and that was it for the year 2004. South Delta earning the bronze medal with a 4 - 1 record.

FINALLY, Sardis Secondary put on an OUTSTANDING tournament. Everything was very professional and the venue(Townsend Park) was second to none. Well done to Jake Mouritzen who set a tough bar for next year's host GP Vanier in Courtney. Does anyone know if there is a casino there? We will be losing 8 players from this years team, so we will have a difficult time getting out of the Valleys. Having said that, we will still have our phenom and another cracking midfielder, who is in grade 11 this year. Now we need to go in search of a goalie........

Captain, the last thing that Shea said was:

"Thanks for teaching us to not take things too seriously and make fun of those who do!"

Ah, yes...a money quote......BTW, did you do anything last night? Elputzo decided it was a good idea to have another flutter at the casino. A loss of one hundred dollars wrapped up an otherwise profitable weekend. Thanks, El Putzo. :)
