Setanta Sports HD channel coming August 1st


The first live marquee event in HD will be the Community Shield between defending FA Cup and Barclays Premier League champions Chelsea and perennial league champion contenders Manchester United Sunday, August 8 at 10 a.m. ET/ 7 a.m. PT.

A free ten-day preview, capturing the opening two weekends of the Barclays Premier League season, will be available from August 13-22

Word on the street is that Shaw will have 'more info' regarding this channel on August 12th.

Can't see them telling people this if the 'more info' is something along the lines of "we're not going to offer Setanta HD"

Yeah, and they're doing another channel shift aren't they? No wonder I can never find whats on, every 3 months they change the channel numbers again.

From my understanding, at least this channel shift should make sense as all "like" channels will be grouped together.

Banner ad in Province Sports touting Setanta HD by Setanta. No mention of providers.

I'm hoping Shaw does their reshuffle of HD channels on the 10th and then announces the addition of Setanta HD & Sportsnet One HD 2 days later to their new HD Sports Package available immediately (just in time for Premier League start).

I can't see Telus TV not picking it up. They are currently doing a lot of conversion installs and advertising the shite out of the product, which I have and love.

They keep adding channels and there are gaps in their channel numbers which are grouped according to programming type (Movies, Sports, Lifestyle, News, Family Programming, Major Networks, etc)

Bell TV apparently has it up and running (Channel 1414).

Shaw took out an add in the province today.. Introducing Oasis HD and Cnn HD.. not sure the point as these channels have been around for a month now.. No mention of setanta or sports net one though

The thing about Shaw that kills me is that they NEVER advertise this stuff to their customers through the guide (or even email). How hard can it be to push a banner saying NEW HD Channels added?

We should start a campaign to contact them and demand some swift action, or we go to Bell.
