reccos, i know you have been setting records for the most posts in a day, mostly in the premier thread i guess. I have spoken about Clan loyalties in the past and i have tried to stay out of the Div 1 threads as i don't play in Div 1. As far as players leaving the team, thats news to me, i have not heard any word of that. My flat mate and several friends are on the team and as far as thme jumping ship I think it is still too early to start talking about that. With this side of the table being so tight i think any team still has a great shot at promotion b/c teams are going to be stealing points off each other all throughout the season, so teams that haven't had the best starts such as the Clan and RUFC still have good shots at promotion

prediction for lowly side B

since everyone always talks about side A I feel it is time to bring side B into the mix.....

Norburn 1 vs Lobbans 3...two teams going in opposite directions. Lobbans sits second in the league while norburn last. Look for Lobbans to add to Norburns already rocketing goals against making it 23 ga in only 5 games.

WFC Bimini's 1- Norvan 1 ..a good defensive battle. One team might be able to get the win if chances are finished.

Polska 3 vs PCOV 2....Polska coming off a surprising win against Olympics hope to have a repeat performance. If they can get the early goal look for the PCOV backline to open up allowing more scoring chance. Probably going to go to the team that scores first.

Hagars 0 vs Milan 2... Haggars will try to keep the league leaders off the scoresheet but Milans offensive minded squad should be ready to go. One of the goals will come off a set piece as Milans big guys at the back like to push forward.

Shaheen 1- Olympics 3...Olympics front runners are to fast for shaheen and a win for olympics should make up for last weeks loss.

Due to my injury situation I regret to inform that I will not be playing tonight and will desperately miss the chance to play against those disappearing artist: city and wallace (are they even still playing or have they committed themselves back to grammar school).

Either way, it should be an interesting game, no doubt, full of emotion, what with the matches we had last year.

No predictions but obviously feel we need a win tonight to stay in the hunt !!

Long Live RUFC !!!

Cheers, mackers.

Hard Ballz with his predictions for this weekend..........

DCR 2-1 RUFC ( should be a close match and very physical )

City 0-2 Clan ( hopefully we will see an upset )

Lomas 0-7 96ers ( Too much fire power for 96ers )

Sikhs 2-1 Peg. ( Sikhs will rebound after last weekend )

F.F 4-0 PGR ( hopefully another upset )

This should seperate many teams in the standings but all the teams have been having many ties to keep things close. Good luck to all.:D

haven't had a go at predictions yet so here goes:

RUFC 3-1 DCR - should be physical but RUFC is much tougher

Clan 4-0 City - another tough week for ole's boyz

96ers 5-0 Lomas - sorry dazza, at least it won't be 9-1. oh, if you could just finish off some of those 'glorious' chances...

Peg 3-2 Sikh Temple - one day hard ballz will realize that they are not promotion material and will be in tough to stay ahead of the shocking red rangers of point grey

PGR 2-1 Firefighters - the redmen grit one out again to stay better than .500

RUFC vs DCR

Lads,

The game tonight is at Minoru but not the Oval...........I believe it's on # 3 field, which is the one furthest to the back, closest to the changerooms. Kickoff is 8:00pm, all are welcome, as long as you're supporting the right team:D

Game tonight..........
Hard Ballz will be on the side line cheering for a tie with his case of beer and more. It should be an interesting one to watch! As for Bandcamp, come and share a beer with me or half......actually forget the beer, we'll just talk! It would be nice to meet people who are on this thread and then yap at them:D ! It's always nice to be an underdog for a game so I respect your prediction. As for the predictions I make throughout the year Sikh Temple will be undefeated:rolleyes: ! Hope to see you at the game. The Apprentice is welcome.

Game tonight ...

Tonight's match at Minoru #3 Kicks off at 8pm.

Should be a good turnout of supports and TTPers, especially if the rain can keep away.

Hope to get a chance to chat with all TTPers who make it out to our match tonight. Though I'm not sure how I'd know some of you. Maybe a meeting at the centre circle at halftime ;)

Should be ample bevies in the cooler, and plenty more back at our sponsor pub, located about 2 minutes from the pitch.

Cheers,
Willy

Even though the Apprentice's beloved club ACM is on the other side a , road trip to richmond to see tonights game is possible. If Hard Ballz supports me with the beer I might be able to provide some of my magic grass. Hopefully DCR is not the only thing that is getting smoked tonight.

Rubbish game...

Richmond United 1 Deep Cove 1

No offense to the DC and RU TTPers but it was a fcuking rubbish game. Granted, I missed the first 35 minutes of the game. HOwever, the players were not fully to blame. There was an awful wind and more importantly, a fcuking AWFUL ref, Mauricio.

He gave no less than 4 red cards(I missed the first two but apparently they were crap calls) but the last 2 were definite reds, one for Animal's professional foul and one for a spitting incident.

I saw a lot of missiles knocked up the park and overall very little possession for either team. Hopefully, I wasn't too far away to see anything different, as I was in the far corner of a poorly lit field......

A tie was a fair result from the time that I arrived but I don't know about the first 30 minutes, so I will let the lads sort it out.

There was a lot of abuse after the match between certain players but I decided to leave before being encouraged to drink a beer....

My hands were fcuking freezing. Where is Sportstown when I need it?

Shocking

Unfortunetly the much anticipated match tonight between RUFC and DCR was botched by the moron they call Mauricio:mad: Absolutely no chance for either team to do anything in what could have been a classic tough battle between two strong teams! I think all that the ref did right was were yellow cause everything from there would have made every single player registered or lurking puke here at TTP!

The entire first half was spent watching Mauricio rant and rave to both teams, the sidelines and anyone else for that matter........even started shoving one of our players around in a minor altercation that was only escalated by himself. At one point a bunch of players were seriously talking about walking off the park and leaving him to do whatever he wanted, it was that bad. As for the first set of reds they were a joke! Both players were shaking hands after a tough tackle and a little bullshit when Mauricio asked for them both to return to his center cirle where he flashed the orange card to both! Everyone else on the park thought they got yellows and that they had been asked to leave for a BREAK cause there was no way that they deserved a yellow let alone reds!

The second half, with RUFC up 1-0 was brutal as after DCR tied up the game both teams got a player sent off and with all the open space available to both teams, niether could do much with it!

Anyways a tie, though disappointing, was what both teams deserved as the game was a farce! Really as a player, who spent the rest of the evening talking to players on both teams needs some recourse here! Both teams lost the oppertunity to play a game tonight and some decent players will be suspened for who knows how long cause of this moron.

Well what more is there to say about the DCR/RUFC match last night? As Captain pointed out (and where were you? I didnt see you there) its was a pretty poorly played game. Aside from the parade of cards, Mauricio's constant whistle blowing killed any chance the game had of getting a flow going.

Having played in MANY RUFC/DCR battles over the years, I know that both teams knew exactly what to expect from each other, and I know (from my chats with some of the DCRers after the match) that both teams wanted to play.

All TTP banter and trash talk aside, both teams wanted to play hard and leave it on the park. Unfortunately, Mauricio single handedly killed the flow and passion of the game, and players had no other recourse but to be frustrated with their inability to play.

I can only assume that playing on Friday night means almost every ref in the lower mainland was availble, and it shocks me that the league appoints a ref who kill the game rather than one who'll keep control of it but allow the teams to play.

Refs are always going to be good and bad, and rarely will you agree with every decision, but when players on the park are talking about walking off the field, that's a whole different level. He was shite and needs to know it. The game is for the players not some wannabie super-fcuking-star.

On a positive note good to see fellow TTPers Bringit, Hardballz, and ginger.

Well, well, well

Lomas 2 Pacific 96ers 2

Well, well, well, the predictions were a little off, weren't they lads.

This was a game the Lomas should have won to be fair. It all started in very interesting fashion.

The 96ers left-back, who has to have a serious drug problem, was tackled by Mehmet, fair and square, and then decided to kick him about three feet in the air in retaliation. This could quite easily have been a red card in most games, but probably because it was so early on, the headcase got away with a yellow. I almost got my head to the resulting free kick but couldn't quite get to it and a good chance went begging. Not content with his ealier chopping of Mehmet, the same left back got into a scuffle with someone else. The ref warned him again, and 96ers scrambled desperately to make a sub and get him out of there. He left the field and started spouting off at the ref. The ref called him back, and sent him off. 96ers then tried in vain to bring a sub on but the ref was having none of it.

And this was all after only 5 minutes!!!

96ers then got a break when a corner made it through to their centre forward and he slotted it home. Then about 10 minutes later the other forward was sent down the right. Nice turn and finish 2-0 after about 25 minutes.

But the Lomas did not roll over. Good work down the left by Bruce, he knocked it back to Daz, who got a good shout from Mehmet (a close-season Bosman signing who is proving his worth) and he slotted it home nicely. 2-1.

Boycs, making his Div 1 debut (and a fine one it was too) also had a glorious chance to score in the first half after a knock on from a throw-in by Big Scott, but put his effort wide.

2-1 at half time.

Into the second half, and a long kick by Gaffa was knocked on in the air by Daz to Bruce and the ball made it's way inside to Boycs who slotted it through nicely to Mehmet and he cooly placed it beyond the advancing 96ers keeper.

Ivor Evans (what is going on there?) then had a go at Sneddon and I swear I thought he was going to throw a punch at him. Evans threw all of his toys out of the playpen, went off the pitch in a huff and then came back on 5 minutes later when he had calmed down. Scary stuff!

The rest of the game was well competed but it has to be said that 96ers never threatened Gaffa in the Lomas goal.

Another Lomas opponent comes off the pitch relieved with a point.

Well done to all the Lomas for battling hard and refusing to lie down after going behind early on!!

Good chemistry and effort and I can smell a win! It's going to be a lot of fun when it comes!

Daz

Good stuff..

Dazza/Gaffa/Mehmet etc,

Congratulations on a good point, lads. It will be interesting to see if anything happens with the apparent lack of discipline on the field with the 96ers........

Captain

Willy,

I was to the left of Ginge and Hardballz(?) I think. Are you still injured?

saw the first half and was sure that the floodgates were open after they went up 2-0 (even with only 10 men) but you guys did well after that and were much more organized.

they are a very talented team but almost all headcases, starting at the top with ivor. a great result grabbing a point off them.

now, back to piss taking: you should have scored on that header but you chickened out, the lomas will win once this year (vs. city f.c.) and get some new uniforms. orange is a great colour that you have managed to give a bad name. shame on you. shame, shame, shame.

thank you.

Lomas vs. 96ers

96ers? What the fcuk? This game should have meant 3 points for the Lomas after a brilliant effort against a team of talented nut cases.

Excellent performances by Ian Frew & Boycs.

Horrible performance by 96ers starting left back - he'd do well as a lumber jack, though.

Mehmet.
