Bored at work, so I thought I would start something here. What's everyone playing these days apart from most of us the obvious FIFA 12. Anyone grabbing the new Uncharted 3, or next weeks, Call of Duty MW3? I myself am an uncharted fan, but with MW3 coming so close, I will wait to pick up Uncharted. MW3 should be awesome and what I hope and assume will be better than the already awesome Black Ops. What do you got in the machine, whether 360 or PS3, even Atari.

PS3 for me. Haven't picked up Fifa 12 yet, and probably will regret it as I will be jumping into MW3 asap. I don't have a tonne of time for gaming, therefore I know picking up FIFA 12 will be a waste of time/money.

MW3 will have some big differences to Blops, most importantly being pointstreaks vs killstreaks... like in Blops you could only build killstreaks, whereas in MW3 you will supposedly be able to build up pointstreks, which will take into account bobm plants, defuses, flag runner, kills, defends, etc. the way the rewards work is different too...
Pointstreaks rewards are organized into three different "strike packages" called Assault, Support, and Specialist. The Assault strike package works the same as the killstreak reward system in Modern Warfare 2 and Black Ops, offering rewards like the predator drone and helicopters. The Support strike package offers support-style rewards such as UAVs and SAM Turrets. Rewards from the support strike package do not reset when the player dies, but accumulate over the course of a match. The Specialist strike package rewards players with perks of their choosing after every second consecutive kill. After eight kills, they will receive every perk in the game, but will reset back to none upon death. Players are allowed to choose which pointstreak rewards they want to use when they gain it during the match, rather than choosing them between rounds.

I'm also thinking reading the preview that the new MP game modes will be pretty sweet.
Several new game modes have also been added. "Kill Confirmed" requires players to collect floating dog tags from the corpse of a downed enemy before the kill can be registered. However, the opposing team can pick up the dog tag as well to deny the other team of a kill. In "Team Defender", both teams must try to cap a flag in the middle of the map, and hold it to accumulate points. Private matches also now include pre-made game modes including "Infection" (where the infected kills enemies to recruit them to their team), "Drop Zone" (where the player must hold a drop zone for points and care packages), "Team Juggernaut" (each team plays alongside an AI Juggernaut character), "Gun Game" (be the first to get one kill with every gun in the game) and "One in the Chamber" (in which players are only allowed one pistol with one bullet and three lives where they can only get more bullets by killing other players). Along with this, players are allowed to create their own game modes with customized settings such as number of players and time limit

Video games went out for me when I was in my early 20's. It was Sega hockey each weekend night before the bar. I find the time it takes to play these intense games now I don't have anymore. It's like typing on TTP... it's kinda exciting while you're doing it but really you're wasting your life away. Come to think of it Reg's you've ruined our lives...you should be ashamed.

I was a crazy gamer in my teens, didn't game at all in my 20's.

Just started playing again (My PS3 was a xmas present and was intended more as a toy to keep my wives friends husbands and bf's interested in hanging out with me and as our blue ray player) in the last year once COD: Black Ops came out... I love it, an hour or two every other day or so when they kids are in bed and the wife is watching Cake Boss or some other shite is awesome.

The graphics and audio in these games are truly on par with some of the best movies out there on BlueRay, and playing online against other retards with too much time on their hands is fun too.

Black Ops is a great time waster, as is FIFA 12, perfect for wasting time before practice or a game, oh ya blu ray too.

calling me a geek for gaming is like me calling someone who reads novels for an hour a night a geek or someone who has 1 show per weeknight they watch religiously a geek.

Addicted to fifa 12, seen as you can play for money these days I'm tempted to start.
Love the new promotion scheme too, haven't suffered relegation yet in my 6 completed seasons with 4 promotions, and 3 points in my last 5 games of season 7 will secure another promotion up to division 5.

ahhhh, no. Someone who reads an hour a night is educated.
arguing over the internet is stupid, so let's call this a debate.

Reading non-fiction etc is different than reading texts or encyclopedias etc... it's media for entertainment, as is gaming.

Some people prefer to read about action, some people like watching it (action movies, war movies, sweet carchases etc) and some like playing it in a virtual world.

I will never get those loonies that do that live action rollplaying, but I guess it's just one small step to that from playing video games online with "friends"

back on topic: cascadesoccer, did you also read anything about the "Elite" side of MW3? it looks pretty cool.

I haven't read a ton on it, but I know its going to have a social aspect to it. Nothing like Twitter or Facebook, but you can join up to 64 groups. For example La Lakers Fans, or TTP Members, then you can play games, with specific people in those certain groups, where you share a common ground. For the most part it seems like it deals with statistics and ways to improve your game with tutorials. Im not sure on the price, but I do like the "groups" idea. Not sure if everything is worth the asking price (depending on what that will be) but im sure for the hardcore gamers will already have this pre orderd and ready to go. If MW3 Elite makes you uncertain, there will be a BETA for black ops apparently for ppl to try out.
