Imagine how good the talented teams in Div 2 would be with a coach/manager! Without having one of the fellas running the show promotion would be a breeze. Why is it so hard for NK...with a 'National Level Coach'?

Interesting. So far we've heard a myriad of reasons for Belmont's failures this season: apathy; overconfidence; missing players; team doesn't actually want promotion; and now, not having proper coach.

Perhaps you should include "team made up of chronic losers".

Or perhaps you should consider the possibility that you're not that good.

I am not that complex. Really. Give me some footie on the weekends, 7 or 8 fishing trips/yr, beer and some more beer, some TTP and that's about it.

Thanks for thinking of me...all of the above is true except I don't think we are failures. We do not want promotion yet we want to win all of our games - who woudn't? If I wanted to play serious soccer where my teammates showed up to training and games and cared about fitness then I definitely would not be playing in the VMSL Division 2! I do not put this as a priority and am interested in playing 'decent' soccer with friends - so I play for Belmont

And Watcher - your coach did not try to recruit me...as you know, I'm not that good. He did try to get Joey though but who wouldn't. So did Firemen Premier.

Nice field. Should be fun Sunday.

I think that puts us in 5th place for the season. Look out 2C next year.

An entire season of listening to you talk about being top 3 in 2A and 4th is all you deliver?

Yes - 4th it is. Seems about right to me. Congrats to Cleo's for finishing strong and getting in to 3rd...not that anything below first really means anything.

Lost 3-0 to Firemen on Saturday. They played a handful of their Masters guys (illegally but who really cares) and against our 10 they really picked us apart. Made it look easy coming out of the back when we could only pressure with 1 forward. The old guys play a nice game and who needs fitness when you can move the ball around like that.

Congrats to Burnaby on promotion - definitely the team most deserving in our group this year.
