Norvan 0 - 5 Rangers:
We do not have depth this year and there are 2-3 players that need to be out for us to do well. Missing our only true keeper does not help our cause for getting results.
We spotted the Rangers 2 goals early as we were playing with 9players 4 of which got to the field with a couple mins to spare. Despite the disadvantages we were unlucky not to have a couple of goals in the first frame as we had 1 close breakaway and a near perfect cross to the 6yd line that went unfinished on an open net. 2-0 at half we have 11 players everyone is positive and we are accounting for ourselves pretty well when a ball skitters past our last D-man and pounced on by a Ranger Fwd. Our Defender had to chase and tried to get the angle and slide but got the ball and the player but the ref ruled it a dangerous play and awarded the PK for the third goal. Not very long after that a free kick from 24m was curled into the top corner for 4 and there you have the ball game. We still missed 2 breakaways in the final 20 and had some other chances but the team was gassed and this allowed the Rangers to gain some more possession and score a Stat padding 5 goal.
It was not as easy game for the Rangers as the score would indicate and some better finish early(and perhaps 11players to start) would have seen a more even scoreline.
Rangers are a decent bunch and its always a good battle that is fun to be in.
Oggy, we've been keeping a close eye on PG. There are youth games running all day and then our U21 game at 4pm. Unless a major snow dump happens it should be good to go. A little dusting will not accumulate as long as people are continuously playing.
Cheers for the info, Dezza.
Playing high school soccer up in Alaska, our games would never get cancelled. We'd just use orange balls and spray orange lines onto the snow. I'm still trying to figure out when conditions are considered too bad to play down here...
