Lusos 2 Us 1

Very close game with not much between the two teams at all. Ang did a great job in the middle.

Lusos went up 1-0 about 15 minutes in, and were able to hold their lead until the half. Patented fire and brimstone halftime chat didn't quite have the requisite effect, but the guys in white raised their level of play and were able to equalize about 25 in. Things went back and forth until Lusos were able to put away a scrambly chance and take the lead again. We pushed hard, but only managed to hit crossbar #21 on the year....

'Bout freakin' time the boys played up to the level of the team we were playing against. Just wish it had happened earlier in the season.

Back to league play for us...

Can anyone tell me anything about Surrey Dynamo? Their results lately seem to have improved. We have them in cup this weekend.

Actually it wasn't the operations; it was because his daughters kept megging him...

Westside B 2-1 SFU

Both teams with limited subs, a bunch of familiar faces on SFU. pretty even game with us getting a spot shot early in the second half and their keeper starts whining to the ref first about the call and then about the placement. I guess it's one thing if you think there was a bad call but this wasn't one of them. Anyways, he goes on and on, gets abusive to the ref who finally gives him a yellow, we score, get it called back for having a player inside the 18 and then we score again to make it 1-0.

They tie it up on a good goal developed from a free kick on the right side and some shoddy marking as it pinged around the box until one of them put it in. We then did roughly the same thing back to them with about 4 minutes to go and their keeper says something else to the ref for his second yellow and expulsion (here's a hint man: if you have to talk to a ref, don't call him names and say personal things about him...) to really help the SFU cause. So with 4 minutes left and them down to 10 guys it was over soon. Onto the next round!

Poco Celtic 2 - Vancouver Untied 0

Good hard game today...both teams played tough and didn't give much
We potted 2 on counters and had a chance to finish it off with a 3rd near the end but our striker slipped it by the post. Some very hard tackles on the pitch today and the lousy reffing almost ruined the game.
Great bbq after!!!

Our goal came with about 30 minutes left in the 2nd half from a ball across from the right low down. Our forward and their defender both lunged at the ball and in it went. Chances to get a2nd were there but not like the ones we missed in the first half.

Sorry I couldn't make it - too many family obligations (relatives from out of town). Would have loved to have been available to heckle yer Guatemalan-accredited ref and Densky's ping pong paddle hands.
