Whataboutbob massive game is comming your way this weekend. CMF comes with four man attack. Not an easy way to deffend. Fourth guy gets in on most goals they score. I hope cards are not your trouble this weekend. Canes and Columbas should be a tilt. A sunday noon game for premier soccer is just somthing un-heard of. Best of luck to you and to Cains.
There is a Punjabi saying if you are not a Khalsa what are you then?
Alja boys. One game to prove all wrong. Tomas you can do it. Kick the dam ball hard. Dancers will quit.

Very impressive conclusion to the season for Sapperton. They beat West Van, Delta and Metro Ford in their last three games. A must win game for Hurricanes tomorrow against Columbus to force a playoff relegation game.

Sapp 1 - MF 0

Sapp did what they had to do. MF were missing a lot of players but we'll take any breaks we can get.
50th min - Ted Ullrich with the calm finish from a botched clearance from a corner kick from 5 yards out.
Garth Lagasse came up with a terrific foot save off a point-blank header from Emilio in the 20th min.
Kyle Phillips with 1 off the post in the 35th.

Sapp has played hard down the stretch and the 3 big wins against some tough opposition was well deserved.

I hope we don't have to face the Hurricanes in a 1-game playoff next week. They are a tough team for us to match up with.

Columbus 5 - Hurricanes 0 (0-0 half)

Great weekend for the Sapperton club!

Sapp survives again this year but showed a lot of promise down the stretch. Columbus now can get the SFU players for next year and the Hurricanes are done. How the hell do you schedule a Vegas trip during this time of the season? Mind boggling.

Sapp will now concentrate on their partnership with the HPL Burnaby Selects club.

Congrats to Sapp - although asking the same questions of the Hurricanes and feeling sorry for Gary and some of the others - some decent guys there and they play some nice football too. Still, commitment is fundamental at this level.

If Sapp gets three four kids from MSL league from Burnaby they will be ok. Kids are going all over the place. Three guys are joining Eagles. Two guys are off to Victoria University one guy or two to SFU. It is not as easy as it looks. Sap needs to get twenty guys from gold level and work on a three year development program. Good players will leave due to playing on a senior team, or lack of it.
Rebuilding for any club is tough. U21 league you have four clubs that clober every other club. Half or more guys quit due to that. Royal city has a good program going. Kids will come if asked. Lots of good players.
As of next year half or more kids will come from North Shore. Those guys will end up on North Van sides. Just ask Sules with Croatia SC how hard it is. Good Job Thomas. Now be smart and hand it over to someother guy. Next year there is not going to be any easy games.

VMSL has had 9 spots I believe ever since they went to a 20 team format (or maybe it was the year after).

I believe the semi finals are hosted by the VISL and not the VMSL. This never makes sense to me. WTF have 2 mainland teams go to the island for a semi final game or vice versa? There has to be some common sense.

FYI-for the men's open the vmsl receives 1 seeded team, Surrey United, who will not play in the preliminary round. I presume the FVSL also receives one (PAU) and the VISL may receive 2, as they were the prov champions last year.

The draw is 11am this Monday...very important, as always.

Reedie, the island set the precedence a couple years ago... If two mainland are in the semi's there is no travel and vice versa for the island. I can't confirm the finals though.
