I'm sure that brings back memories Burnsie. :D

Well Shutts it seems that kicking it high and hard and doing the Izatt stretch wasn't good enough but thanks on the support bud.

We tied Alberta nil-nil.
Shame we couldn't have played that well in the first two games but still if you can't put it in the onion bag you simply are going nowhere.
Fcuk's sakes.

It appears the shite result result yesterday has cost us.
A fcuking tie would have done it.
We get to look forward to a 9AM kick off for the consolation final now.
Great...

My hunch is Alberta will win it now and certainly I'd like to see them do it.
Edmonton was a much more classier side than Winnipeg.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone,
RF

Geez - Winnipeg is a long way to go to shite the bed ... know how you boys feel - we did the same last year except I believe we came second ... anyways - I am sure you had a good time and that is what counts.

Yeah - Well done.
You lost better than us.

Good time here.
Some had more than others obviously.
Personally, as much as Manitobans are friendly indeed, I ain't coming back to Winnipeg anytime soon.

Us 4 Saskatchewan 0.

Good effort considering the time, weather and circumstances.

Time for a cold beer and we've bumped our flights up to get home in time for dinner now.

Done,
RF

Good stuff RF keeping it all in perspective and finishing on a high note!

While we could have worked with being a 4-seed next year, 3 sounds much better psychologically :D

BTW, where would you put Sask in the SMEPR?

Rangerforever, I know you guys wanted to bring the gold home in the worst way but it isn't the World Cup and I'm sure you guys represented BC first class on and OFF the field that all O35 teams from this great province do!! Well done in making it to the dance and congratulations on the 3rd place.

It's nice to be home.

Alberta smoked Manitoba 3-0 in the final.

Thanks to the many well wishers.......First Class!

Barry Parno got 12 stitches in his head against Alberta Sunday and got drilled in the head again against Sask yesterday morning.

He was in the hospital but got a late flight home last night.

Would of been, Could have been, Should of been.

Sorry for not bringing home the gold.

Once again, Thanks!

BTW, where would you put Sask in the SMEPR?

As much as MBE's rankings thread is the best here on TTP most would agree, most people also usually don't agree with some slots placed within it, as we all have our own opinion that way.

So, my personal opinion would be that team from Saskatoon would not be in the top 10.
Everyone listed from 1-10 would have their way with them.
I would say they would be in between 10-20 although there are sides in that range that would thump them as well probably.

Maybe a CL type of thing would be more appropriate for this Tourney.
Representation should be from each of the 4 Provinces of course but maybe 4-3 each from BC and Alberta, two from Manitoba and one from Sakatchewan?
Similar to how our Provincial draw is seeded.
Also, it seems Winnipeg Italia are the only team in Manitoba.
I watched an interview on them on the local Shaw channel and they said they ran away with the 'league' this year (Around 80 goals for and 10 against) and they've been the entrant the last three years in a row.
So winning the Winnipeg Soccer League gets you to the Westerns?

The Judge could probably give us better insight on Alberta as his team from Calgary were obviously good last year and this team from Edmonton was also a good side.

Congrats to Meralomas who won the Ladies 'Classics' competition over Quebec.

Thanks again on all the support here guys,
RF

I hope not...Don't like how the provincial draw is done. The VMSL deserves 8 spots...Period! We had easily two more competitive teams that would have beaten a lot of the North Shore and Island teams. Period.

Congrats on at least placing a decent spot RF. Maybe next year someone can win it all.

SCK:

What I mean is the theory of our provincial draw.
Not saying it's perfect just saying how they allocate more spots to different leagues as opposed to others.
The VMSL still gets the most spots as it is the best league.
And when you say two VMSL teams that didn't make the dance to the BCs is kind of my point.
I have no doubt that if Columbus had come with us to that tourney as well as my mate's Calgary team for example, they easily would have been contenders and better than the Saskatoon side.

Capiche? ;)

Congrats to Meralomas who won the Ladies 'Classics' competition over Quebec.

Here we have a team that no many knew they were in a National Tournament and did not make any noise about it....

...and come home as a NATIONAL CHAMPION.

I guess they didn't eat PIZZA....CONGRATULATIONS LADIES...

So much for the NOISY teams, who eat PIZZA, reporting on the tourney, even bringing their win to anyone's attention IN THE FIRST PLACE...;)

RF ......... when you mix orange and green, I think you get Brown. Have you thought of posting in the 'Brown Soccer Banter' thread? I think you'd legally get away with it.:D
