Premier Why Poco is a short term embarrassment to the FVSL

Ridiculous thread, ridiculous topic.

I have been around the FVSL Premier for 10+ years now. This division, this league would be much better for having 10 teams of the caliber, or at least the ability and desire to battle and compete with a team like POCO. Regardless of who, or how, they are put together.

As a competitor, player or coaching staff, you kill for the big games against sides like this. It was great being around the Langley boys the past 2-3 weeks where this was their sole focus. They are the only team in the division right now that will pull that out of anyone, where as 5 years ago, we had that from PAU, the Wack, POCO and at times others.

I recall commenting to more than one when they were out and beat Langley 5-1 in the second half, pretty classy bunch, never disrespectful of the opposition, and although a couple guys who would chirp, what team does not have that? They looked professional, and looked like they liked each other, and were genuinly having a good time. As a coach, skill and talent aside, that is the sign of a good team first imo.

Trust me, we have other situations in the division that should be branded an embarrassment much before this group labeled as such.

Well said LFC3, Ill be the first to admit, that I bust poco's ball, but thats just strictly TTP. Anyone who has played prem or just played soccer in general, can't tell me that they wouldn't want to play for this team. If you say no you're foolish. "but they pay their players!!!" who cares, if they do, they do! would you turn it down if it was offered to you? I certainly wouldn't. As soon as your on top people find a reason to knock you off. I hope poco stays in valley prem as playing vs teams of that caliber only make you stronger and give the valley a better chance of competing vs the vmsl. I say Congrats to poco on a terrific season and the stats speak for themselves. tough luck in the pak, but best of luck representing the valley in the provs.

Where are pau in the league ?where are poco?i happen to be friends with TA & like always he is a fun ,happy mate & a true professional on & off the pitch !poco has been the team to beat in the valley for the past 12 years & what he has brought to the league is outstanding! I even hear billy Jackson & Guinness just applied for a job with TAs club !they said they would both play for 5 k a year split between & a free bag!
So that saying enjoy playing div one in the next couple of years if pau Do not pull their socks up,maybe TA can buy that spot too & move poco to White rock!

Totally agree with Cascade here. We need great teams in our prem div. Teams will only get stronger with the goal of taking down Poco.

We had a poor result this weekend, sid, so we'll likely finish 4th. Same spot as Poco last season.

Don't know what you're talking about, cnut. I've had a hate-on for PoCo since the 90s. With a well tanned and moderately spry Billy Jackson, Fat Monkey, Sliver, etc... when they used to dominate the FVSL Premier with unpaid players.

And I have nothing against the guys on the current PoCo roster, either. Except for the chicken shite little cnut that (after the game in the changeroom hallway) kicked one of our players (a substitute, who didnt play, and was on his phone) in the balls and ran away. Otherwise they are a really good team coached by the guy with best maintained eyebrows in the league. Lots of very solid players and people on the team. Hoping to play them in provincials. Yes The Apprentice... we qualified.

this thread is sad! who doesnt wanna play for the best team? even playing against a good team. if you want to be "competitive" you could move to div 4. but some people would call it Mediocre soccer. it is not a knock on div 4

Well done. My post earlier in the year was to motivate you. That's the type of guy I am. Just think if you were at Poco making 7k a year you would be able to get your brows waxed/threaded weekly and even have a bit left over to buy a few quality keeper kits. I can't get that Wheres Waldo visual out of my head . Also I don't agree with violence on or off the pitch but anytime someone is kicked in the balls it is funny. There is no arguing that

What is the likelihood that they will bail for VMSL? As much as I'd like to see them (and Surrey United Firefighters, and even ICSF Pegasus) playing in the FVSL, what's the benefit of remaining there? Closer away matches? No Friday evening fixtures? An easier route into provincials? Surely they'll have a harder go during provincials if they play against inferior league opponents all season (no offense, my Valley luvvies).
