Here we go.

Game 1
Metro Ford Wolves vs Westside

Game 2
Sportstown Firemen vs Surrey United

Game 3
Delta Metro vs Vantreights

Game 4
Bays United Blue vs Gorge

========================

Game 5
Sporting vs Inter

Game 6
Sapperton vs GEU

Game 7
Langley vs Poco

Game 8
Gordon Head vs Pegasus

=========================

On the surface, the top half looks pretty solid.

Langley vs Poco...

We have to travel, which sucks... in fact, we don't get a home game at all as it appears we are seeded last... :D

(BTW, home teams are listed first)

Cheers,

~Regs.

So what you're saying is that meeting us in the second round would be your worst nightmare? I mean, that's the way it reads. Aves told me so.

:D

Even worse than the time I dreamt I was naked at school. Even worse than that. ;)
I'm beginning to understand now why Aves was such a prick last week... he had the same dream but he was the teacher... :D

It's too bad that there isn't a way for teams from the same league to not meet in the first round.

So much for my preparation for a VMSL team. Two warm up games prior to the draw with VMSL teams and we draw an Island team..

Oh well, at least we don't have to travel in round one.

Good luck to all

Cheers

I'm sure they could "set that up" if they wanted as it has been that way in the past.
Looks like Poco will have a chance to get their revenge on Langley though.

Where can we find the schedule of games? I am assuming the fields and times haven't been setup yet.

Well I guess you have to beat the best to be the best... but let me just say... FOR FCUK SAKES!!! One of these years we'll get a plum draw like... Langley. There was some interesting talk after the All-star game last night about the draw and suggestions about rankings the clubs and such, but I'll save them for now. Don't won't start the whole VMSL vs FVSL thing again, I'll wait until they're all out first. :D

BTW, if GEU could pull a team together I think this game is winnable for them. It's the ideal match up with their size, you know Sapp won't "out play" them so they may be able to grind one out

Game 1
Westside - Rolling along, should make it to the Final.

Game 2
Sportstown Firemen - Surrey will be down from defeats in the Imperial and League Cup, too much Treble Pressure. ;)

Game 3
Vantreights - Have good big strong teams every year.

Game 4
Gorge - Have lots of experience for this time of year.

========================

Game 5
Inter - Both teams have struggled recently, but Inter should come out on top.

Game 6
Sapperton - Too many GEU injuries for the upset to happen.

Game 7
Poco - Will win in the Pac. Cup re-match.

Game 8
Pegasus - The old boys still have gas in the tank.

When the field locations and times be anounced?

Two marquee match ups in round one that come to the forefront:

Sportstown vs Surrey and Sporting vs Inter

Ashame to see two of these four tournament favourites to go out in the first round.

I gotta agree with KNVB though, GEU got a great first round draw and will give Sapperton more than they bargained for.

Two FVSL teams to go through into the round of 8.....both from the bottom half. (Sorry Crafty :) )

Hey Skip, don't worry about it mate. We know we are in tough here. All we can do is give it our best shot, that's all you can ask.

Nobody expected us to knock out Firemen last year either... ;)

OK Knvb, I'll bite. Friday morning having a coffee... time to kill until her indoors catches me in here and then kicks my arse out in the garden to do more landscaping, you know what I mean..

I could possibly understand seeding for the first round only. Once you hit the quarters then you are fair game whoever you are...

First Round seedings would be ( taking this year as an example)

INTER
WESTSIDE
SPORTING
PEGASUS

Top three plus Imperial Cup winners

GEU
LANGLEY

League and Pakenham Cup winners

VANTREIGHTS
GORGE

League and Jackson Cup winners ( I believe Vantreights won the league and the Cup this year, so Gorge would get the second seeding for the VISL as league runners up.)

The eight seeds can not be drawn against one another in the first round, however they can be drawn home or away.

After the final eight is decided, we go back to either a structured draw like we have now for the remainder of games, or we have a random draw for both the quarters and the semi's.

There you go Knvb, my coffee is empty and I'm up for a refill.

Cheers

For the VMSL seeds I'd rank the four semi finalists #1's and split them into four different groups. Then take the two top island seeds (ie) Cup winner and league winner (or next in line if someone had the double) and my Valley Pak winner and League winner and make them #1 on separate sides from the Imperial guys. So for instance we'd have

Imperial 1
????
Pak winner
????

Imperial 2
????
Island cup
????

Imperial 3
????
Valley League
????

Imperial 4
????
Island League
????

The rest is up to a random draw. Just a thought.

Pass the suger...

:D

I thought that may get a reaction out of you  . After doing the Richmond League Cup Final two weeks ago, I can assure you that the park is even worse shape than it usually is, and that is really saying something. The football lines across the pitch that are supposed to be lines are now chasms
