Only 15 teams because Princess Margaret was kicked out because of an incident in the semi-finals - attacking the ref or something like that. Read it in the paper.

I thought only the croatia club attacks ref's but they usually dump him over the fence when they are done.

FYI, the PM Boys did not attack the referee, it was a fight between both teams as the argyle team was supposedly racist and calling the PM boys 'hindus'

if this is true, why were the RCMP called in to escort the referee and the assistant referees away from the field?

also, as i heard it (from a source who was at the game), it was not only the PMS players, but the PMS sidelines who were after the ref as well.

the incident started with a PMS player receiving his second yellow in the 80th min, while PMS was down 1-0.

Just saying what it said in the paper. It mentioned something about an altercation with the ref after a second yellow was shown near the end of the game. Argyle didn't get dq'd though and PM did.

An appeal has been launched by PM even though i dont know what will happen if they are to win the appeal..as for the rcmp situation....rcmp arrived after the refs had already taken off and everything was stopped.

As one of the coaches for Princess Margaret, I feel as though I have to tell everyone what happened, before everyone thinks that PM players are a bunch of hot-heads who dont know how to play soccer, infact they were the defending BC High School AAA Champions. The kids did not attack the referee, but confronted him as during this incident, he called one of our players and "fukcin hindu", and said "you brown guys just dont know when to shut the fukc up". This was further blown up by the linesman who then pushed one of the PM players. Close to the end of the game our player was taken out from behind on the Argyle sideline and then ref called in in favor of Argyle, when our player was getting up he was hit by a racial slur and then when he swore at whoever said that, he was then pushed by the Argyle sideline, then shite just happened, it should be noted that this incident started on the Argyle sideline, and our sideline got involved when punched were thrown. The refeering was really bad and one sided the whole game and then when the ref said something like that, then thats when we knew something was up. We have talked to BC Soccer and they will launch an investigation into the ref and the shite that was said to the PM guys all game long from the Argyle sideline, with racist slurs being the most serious. There were parents and players from other teams in the tournament that came up to us and gave us their names and statements about what they heard coming from the mouths of the Argyle sideline. It should be noted that when someone called the RCMP, they assumed that there was gang activity going on, im guessing because there was indo-canadian kids involved, because why else would they send 11 police cars and 2 police helicopters ..... the yellow cards that the one player recieved, that was his fault as he lost it when he was taken out in the 6 yard box and the call went the other way, he should have just walked off the field but he did say a bunch of stuff to the ref on his way to the sideline. We were kicked out of the tournament for being a threat but no one took the racism involved seriously, infact we had BBY Central players, who were already in the finals come up to us and tell us what they heard, and how we were werent given a fair chance right from the start of the semi-finals to defend our title fairly. In the finals at the exact same spot, an incident happened with Burnaby Central and Argyle and once again it was a BBY Cental player who was having shite said to him and then pushed by the Argyle sideline. Im not saying that my team were a bunch of angels but i wanted it to be clear that alot of stuff happened before this incident took place, could it have been solved in a different way??...yes... but what happened..happened. Im sure that no one on this site can say that during a game, they have never let their emotions get the best of them. PM was not given a chance to repeat as AAA champions, but hopefully BC Soccer actually does something about this incident involving Argyle as there is no place for racism in soccer.

Im not here trying to defend the players and say what happened was right but i wanted to be given a chance to tell our side of the story, the kids did recieve a whole lot of shite from the Argyle sideline, and there were numberous metro coaches, and college coaches there watching, and we had to deal with Argyle last year in the finals when we beat them 4-0 and the same shite was said then. we have 10 Surrey United Metro players on the team, one of which is leading goal-scorer for the mens premier team and ask anyone from that club and see whether these guys are a bunch of hot-head as protrayed by everyone, including the commitee who dealt with this.

Compared to this stuff, Campbell River was angelic. Didn't The Power's team play PM during the season, OD? What did he say about their attitude/behaviour in the games?

We really are saints aren't we? Don't think he went to the game. From reading the posts on the highschool board though, it sounds like PM's fans get into the game. Nothing wrong with that as long as they aren't being idiots. From all accounts they were a very strong team. As we know, when the officiating is one-sided at a provincials it makes things that much tougher to accept. While we've never gotten into a fight, f-baws was close though, we certainly have done our best to ensure that the officials hear our side of the story.

Never did say that the kids were saints, but ill say that bad officiating did rob the kids from defending their title in the finals against Burnaby Central. Our fans get into the games, but not once has there been an incident with them getting into anything with any refs, opposing players or fans from other schools. Soccer has become a really big part of Princess Margaret for the last 4 years or so with the junior boys winning 3 outta the last 4 fraser valley championships, as well as the grade 8/9 boys winning the surrey championships, and the senior team winning the league title two years in a row and winning the Fraser Valley Championships this year to go along with an undefeated regular season. As for the future, the teams once again looked strong this year and for years to come.

Yah, sorry I thought that his name was Bob.... I dont know why they went with him and his crew, for the past few years we had refs like Kevin Uppal, Paul Ward, Mauricio, etc.....
