28,000 fans is roughly 45% of their capacity. That is shameful.
Giants are supported as well as they ever will be, but after the MEM Cup being here, and them hosting it, they will do well if they don't mortgage their future and be a shite team for the next 5 years after...
The CHL is not even close to the 3rd highest calibre league in the world.
1. NHL
2. AHL
3. Russian Elite
4. Swedish Elite
take a look at rookie Euro's stats while playing in those leagues as 17 year olds, and then look at what their north american counterparts are putting up for numbers in the Dub, the Q, or the OHL.

John,

Still 28,000. Regardless of capacity, it is a huge number.

Russian Elite and Swedish? You're dreaming. There is a damn good reason why the best 17 year old in those nations can play in their top tier: shitty caliber. Take a player like Gilbert Brule any of the past two years, play him over there (lock-out year excluded), and he would have torn those players to shreads. There is a damn good reason why the CHA places more players to the NHL than any other league COMBINED!

You're fcuking out to lunch on that one my friend.

2005-06 season for Evgeni Malkin (at 20 years of age) for Metallurg 46GP, 21 Goals, 26 Assists, 47 TP
source:http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php3?pid=00077329

You mean to tell me that if Malkin played for the vancouver Giants as a 20 year old he would score less points than 1 per game.
Here is another example...
Alex Ovechkin when he was 20 playing for Moscow Dynamo
played in '04-'05 played 37 games, and scored 27 points

Gilbert Brule, as a 17/18 year old scored 87 points in 70 games, and last season found 38 points in 27 games...

Who is the better player at a younger age? Brule? Ovechkin? and In What league?
Who's fcuking out to lunch now?, friend

oh yeah...Perhaps the reason that the CHL sends more kids to the NHL than any other league because of the league being made up of 60+% North Americans. The bubble guys stay in Europe, where they don't have to adapt, avoid culture shock and new languages, and guys like Chubarov can play over there and make more money than the NHL salary cap will bear.
Fact: 15 kids in the first round of this years draft come from CHL whereas other 15 come from College or Europe. It has never been this low? What else recently changed in the way hockey rosters take shape since last season? I'll give you a hint smartass...It's now called the newNHL

Undefeated in 8 now I think!

Got the win last night in Houston (they played before the Barca vs Club America game) - watched it on FSW.

Frank isn't stupid!!! Saw the writing on the wall in this country!! Kevin Pipe has no frickin' idea of what it means to be a quality team in this sad place we call Concacaf? Kevin Pipe still doesn't know what players are playing in Europe and for what teams, since 1996, he has no idea and we pay him great money? End of story! Changes at the top?
