Re: FVSL master premier 2012/2013

Well, until now, only one team has ever moved over in Masters. And they were a force to be reckoned with. And, it made the VMSL masters a better league.

oh well I hope you at least come out to drink pints after and start the deep fryer up for us as the sunburns on my neck make it difficult to get too close to the flames.....

I do have some minor IT Band inflamation if that makes you feel any better? I can start a deepfryer.

Re: FVSL master premier 2012/2013

hmmm. Well, I came back from Calgary in 1998 into Masters. Since that time, I can only remember Surrey Firefighters and Surrey United. I thought they came over together as one team around 2002 or something like that. If it was before '98, I wouldn't know. I am guessing it was . . . you guys? But, that seems pretty crazy for a team full of BMW's and Mercedes to risk playing out in the valley more than for Provinvials

Re: FVSL master premier 2012/2013

I don't believe that SFF ever came to the VMSL, they merged and became the Rangers, who never came to the VMSL, but ultimately some of them joined SU who is one of the teams that joined the league from a different league and then won the VMSL title in their first year I believe. The second to do that from a different league was in fact West Van who joined the VMSL from the North Shore League (I think that was in 2005) and won the VMSL title for the first time in their first year...however as you know they did not win the BCs until 2010. So if Poco can win the VMSL title in 2012/2013 they will be the third to do it after coming over from a different league, the second to do so from coming over from FVSL.

Signed JBN.

I'll say. You would think SirM would remember winning the BCs LAST year, not 2010 :)

I'm also pretty sure that West Van only STARTED a masters team in 2005 to play in the NSCL.

Easy mistake Regs, what with the team that beat W Van in this year's final being the same team that won it in 2010.;)

Re: FVSL master premier 2012/2013

Regs we just changed names in 2005, the VMSL wouldn't let us keep the same name, citing conflict.

The team was the same.

However, me and Freddy were at the same summertime patio it seems this aft!

I heard some rumblings that the PAU Dragons are joining forces with Richmond in the VMSL Masters.

Re: FVSL master premier 2012/2013

confirmed the Dragons are gone. Merged with RCIU of the VMSL Masters premier. All but their goalie (PAU) and one field player (NDU) have made the jump. Wondering what the league is gonna do about the 7 team premier league and better yet can't wait for the moaning to start from the VMSL camp about the 4 berths for 7 teams for the provincials.

I thought I was in the wrong thread for a moment? As I wanted to read what was going on in the FVSL Master's website. Alot of talk in hear about the VMSL Master's league. I've been hearing rumours that a Master's team from the NSCL is looking to come over to the FVSL Master's division. Any truth to this one? Supposedly the NSCL only gets 2 Provincial spots and the FVSL gets 4 Provincial spots. Now that the Dragons and Poco are gone the odds have gone up in gaining one of these coveted berths!
