If Temple wins Sunday 2nd through 5th will be very tight.

Should be an interesting game in Langley tonight. Langley earned one of their wins against us last time, and this week we should have a relatively small squad for the first time this season due to a plethora of Christmas parties etc. As our team operates with a philosophy that everyone gets some playing time if they come out to a game, we have had issues with cohesion at certain games when we are trying to get 22+ guys to get some time on the field. Hopefully that is not an issue this week, though theoretically we might have a different problem when guys who are used to playing 30-45 minutes are asked to play a lot more.

Poco 5 - Delta 1

We were punished for pretty much every mistake we made in the final third. We did create a few chances. Trevor made a great save at 1-0 and we hit a post and the bar at 3-1 , but the result was never really in doubt. Olly Heald, different level. Forget Masters prem, if he's up for it like he was last night he's one of the best in prem. period.

South Delta 4 - Langley 1

Both teams fairly short on numbers. It was a pretty even game for the first 30 minutes. They felt aggrieved about our first goal. Cross floated over and headed goal bound, but it hit another one of our players who appeared to be offside before entering the net (just to be extra clear the ball was going in even if it hadn't hit him). Linesman's flag went up, but after a discussion with the ref, the goal was awarded. We got a second one about 5 minutes later. Ball played up to our forward, he tries a move just inside the 18 and the ball is poked away by their defender, but the balls sits perfectly for our middie to slam it into the net. We pretty much had the run of play for the last 15 of that half.

Lots of chirping in this game, but the ref was having none of it, and started giving cards. Cost Langley in the second half as one of their guys picked up a second card and was sent off. Langley actually started playing really well after that. We might have sat back a bit but their 10 men started generating more chances than their 11 had. We get our third on a counter 2 on 1. They get theirs with 5 minutes to play, off a scramble after a free kick. We get our final goal on a PK in the last minute.

Well I guess "aggrieved" is one word for it, Dont really understand the point of the linesmen if the ref isnt gonna trust their call? Even if they are 12 years old?????? There was nio hesitation from the linesmen to raise his flag it was instantanious and how he could over rule it from just inside center was amazing seeing he could see Fak all at any other point during the game. Blown tackle from behind resulting in our right back not being able to continue in the second half by Baby Huey who only received a yellow for a tackle from behind? He was a joke and it it sad that a good game was missed by the man in the middle. A frustrating display by our player sent off and really no point for it. Certainly doesnt help our cause especially when down by a couple. Good luck to South Delta as the Dr.Jeckel and Mr. Hyde year for Langley continues.
