CCB were an organized squad with big numbers. They had over 20 guys in their warm up all with matching warm up kits. Super impressed with the way they played. They have some very good pieces on that team and I can see them doing well if they stick together over the years. Their big CB #12 did very well. Super calm on the ball and his positioning was perfect all match. Gagan of course was dangerous at times as well.
We had lots of chances but could not find the back of the net. The biggest was a header off the post which our winger followed up with and their defender blocked it about 2 yards out.
We were missing some key players but no excuses there, as we still created enough chances to score a few. Finishing one of our first half chances would have opened the game up but after bagging an average of 4 goals a match to this point, the bounces didn’t go our way on Friday. Them be the breaks.
Only disappointment was not having a changing room as there were 3 other VMSL premier games being played. But their manager offered us the foyer to the clubhouse as that’s all he really had to offer. Hard to prep the lads and get them up for this match in a hallway shared with Rinos Tigers.
CCB will definitely take some points off teams this year. Ref did well as well. There was nothing for him to truly manage... as both teams were playing clean footy. (Theor red came from dissent I believe)
You guys have a bright future if the team sticks together. Lots of young talent there that can only get better over the years. The right way to build a squad!
