RCIU 2 - Slurrey FC 1

Surrey looked a lot younger and much faster than the last time we met. However, so did we. One of the RCIU young guns scored the first with Klaus potting a 25 yard cracker past the Slurrey keeper. Slurrey came back and pressed the entire second half but couldn't beat Cowan in net. Great game from #3 and #13 on slurrey even though #13 was a complete cnut. Ref sucked and robbed us of a goal and called a one sided game. At least we didn't get down on ourselves as we have done in the past. great start to the second half of the season.

Congrats to sapp and boo to Ladner. Stop making it hard on us!

The Green Devils according to coach Reedie played a 5 - 5 - 0.........ICST Pegasus missing 6 players for the game and coach Reedie slotted himself into the game and then slotted a goal. Well done, Coach.

Nice victory there on the weekend WAB...I see the plastic is up in the Sapperton dressing room. Congrats!!

By the way, a llama can run with enough speed to get away from a puma.

Sapp 3 - Hurricanes 2

At 2 buzz it looked over - it could have been 4 within a few minutes, but Sapp persevered. For some reason, the Hurricanes broke down mentally in the back and allowed us to get back in the game. Give them credit, they love to go forward; and the do it really well, but inexperience killed them today. They should have locked up the back and waited for counters, instead they gave a good Sapp team hope and we took full advantage.

The pace was good, at times very, very fast. Individual skill was show cased all over the park - especially by the Hurricanes. But grit, determination, and a true team effort was the difference.

2 of the goals were phenomenal, 1 was superb, and the 2 headers were well executed.

Took in the game on the weekend and WOW. Canes with the same players as last year with the addition of a few guys. Didn't see some familiar faces from last year, not sure if hurt or playing elsewhere. The result isn't exactly surprising as the Canes do not like to win by a goal or 2, they like to hammer teams, but in big games, they usually get punished. IMO, they only have like 1, maximum 2 natural defenders; which bites them in the ass. Not sure what is happening in their club, but I think they will be like Sikh Temple and make it to Premier in 10 years from now when they are all out of their prime.

I hope they make it up as they are a classy all around good bunch. What I meant was how it took them awhile to get up. There are several reasons of course as IMO the competition was a lot stiffer than it is now, player committment, desire, etc. They stuck with it and eventually made it up. With the Canes its a bit different as they should have been up 2 years ago and may not make it up again this year. They have a lot of individual players who all have an attacking style, which is their downfall. Any team that can shut them down can beat them. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out their style and weaknesses. Sapp got 2 goals off of headers and exposed them defensively.

I saw the same thing.
Both headers had no one close to defend. Some mental errors gave Sapp an empty net chance early in the game as well as another free header that went off the bar also in the first couple of minutes, and a breakaway late. When our forwards turned and went at them, they had a tough time containing, instead committing and lunging in.

But when you spend all you salary on offense, there is no cap room for defenders - they need Luongo in net.

You always had 2 of 3 guys marking Sapp's wingers when they had the ball, hence easy headers in the danger area - the middle - where we got our 2 goals to pull us even when the winger crossed it in..

They don't have to wish! They will make it up to Premier on thier own merits...unlike some teams. And, once they move up, they won't be back. They haven't learned how to muck out a win...they'll learn and then they'll win promotion.

Sorry to disagree but I think the Rangers will be going down. Sorry to the guys as there are a lot of good guys there. I know Surrey F.C. will be significantly stronger and RCIU have added 4 good young college players who will make them better too.

BTW, has it been finalized yet in terms of the relegation? Is it the bottom two teams and a playoff with the second to last placed teams?

Looking forward to seeing the result from the Surrey FC vs Romania game. Surrey got some fresh young guns from college and looked 10 times stronger than the first half of the season.
With the Hurricanes losing last night, I'd say that WAB and the rest of Sap will get the promotion.
CS is right WAB, the Rangers look to be the team to go down as long as the rest of us can keep our head above water.
